We stayed at the MH Apartments on Carrer Girona and stopped in here every morning for the duration of our stay. Excellent choice of sandwiches and pastries as well as coffees, teas and juices. Gets really busy around 11.00 am as the locals pile in for elevenses which should be all the recommendation you need. Very reasonable prices and excellent... More

We stayed locally recently, and saw this place on Google maps, with some good reviews...and how right they were! Great little cafe...clean, comfortable with a great atmosphere. The food was superb, all freshly cooked, served quickly...and all with a smile. Very good coffee, and very good value. Highly recommended by our English family.

Good local place with fresh and cheap Boccadillos, coffee and some other Spanish staples. Friendly service. Already at the second visit they ask if you want the usual which is not a bad way to start.

My husband and I live about one block from Cafe Caracas. I am relatively new to living in Barcelona, and though my husband has been frequenting Cafe Caracas for years, its only been about a month for me. Cafe Caracas has become our daily morning routine and for good reason. The coffee is sooooo good - the best I've had... More

I spend every morning of my short stay in Barcelona(6 days) in this cafe. It's a place where tradition is still very present and the coffee is excellent. You can also grab a bite to eat, they have tapas and greats pastries. I loved to stay at the counter and drink my coffee there. Prices and the service where also... More

A very typical breakfast & lunch tapas! They cured their own meat & everything is super fresh & friendly service! We plan to go back for breakfast before we leave! No English menu but if you don't speak Spanish then just point to what you desire...I'm lucky that my other half speaks the language!

Unpretencious cafe where you get an excellent service, good food and a real non touristic focused glimpse.

This is a lovely cafe/bar which we stumbled on while walking to Sagrada Familia. It is light and airy with friendly staff. The menu is what you expect in Barcelona, however if you are staying in the area it is a nice place to start the day.

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
