I guess Baulard is the bakery I loved the most in Barcelona and Madrid. First, thanks to GPS we have been to their place which only serves take away food. Since no one can speak English, we had to wait for someone to come and answer our questions. She gave us a card with the address of this Baulard on... More

This is a great bakery. The bread is great, the pastries tasty and the sandwiches are very good. Great food at great value. For 10 euros you can get a couple of sandwiches and a pastry or two for lunch or dinner.

The fact this bakery where you order at the counter and take your deliciousness away was filled with local patrons should say something - their croissants and other pastries are fantastic. If you are in the Barceloneta neighborhood at breakfast time, stop here to greet the day.

We went to this bakery after a suggestion from our Devour Barcelona Food Tour Guide. I was not disappointed at all! The Pratik Hotel location lets you see the bakers at work - you can even feel the heat off the oven. We ordered one chocolate croissant and some orange juice - both were insanely fresh and delicious. I have... More

Everything is home made! Do I need to say more? The croissants with butter are jummie and their desserts are great! For lunch they have great, special sandwiches!

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
