First of all, we would like to mention the incredibly efficient waitress with curly blond hair who seemed to have magical powers. She was extremely nice and efficient. The atmosphere was lovely and cosy with old furniture. Although the place was very small, nobody seemed to mind.
Everything we ate was delicious from puff pastry to fried zucchini and meatballs. The crema Catalana which is actually a kind of creme brûlée was excellent.

It seems that this bar has been operating since the 1940s and thankfully the interior has not changed to suit the modern era - a big plus! Although small, you cannot help but admire the beautiful fittings and solid wood.
We tend to go early and enjoy a typical Spanish breakfast. As the city does not come to life until 10 a.m. Centric is a quiet oasis for people on their way to work.
The busy Plaza Catalunya and Las Ramblas are just a two minute walk from here.
Excellent food with lots of choice - tapas, meat, fish and vegetarian dishes, clearly shown on the website.
In warm weather the large windows are opened wide and you benefit also from the atmosphere on the narrow streets.
Definitely a memorable place to visit, just on the junction with Carrer del Tallers, the street of record shops and vintage clothes shops in the area too.

You will have to work to find this place, but trust me, its worth the effort
We nipped in for a drink and a small bite.
The staff are friendly and even though there was an English language version of the menu, the young man who served us was happy to go through the options.
We only had a few of the "small bites" but, dear reader, let me implore you - regardless of what you think you know about spinach - try the spinach fritters with honey. You can thank me later.
Also the "Spicy Bomb 'La Barceloneta'", you wouldn't think to try this with a humble spud.
We are on a flying visit, but, should I have the luxury of returning to Barcelona, "Centric" is on my list of "Must tos"

This place was recommended to us by a local, as a great place to eat in an area filled with tourist traps. I wanted to love this place because the hotel we always stay at in Barcelona is nearby. We arrived near the end of traditional Spanish lunchtime looking for a little vermouth and a snack. We found a couple of stools at the bar at squeezed in the cozy space. The server made us feel very unwelcome by looking annoyed at us and tossing down menus. Then the server made us feel obligated to move to other seats. She would disappear for long periods of time, I wanted another Vermouth, but gave up and left money on the table. The place was definitely busy, but plenty of other patrons were getting good service. The food was alright, but nothing too special. I will not be headed back here on our next visit.

For a tourist like myself, the goal is to find a “local” tapas bar with no other tourist. I’m going to blow it, but Centrist is it! We are the only tourist is this niche small bar with great tapas and amazing wine at a 5th of the price of Napa. Just two young adults run this neighborhood establishment on a Barcelona side street. It’s everything I want in an authentic tapas bar on this fifth vacation to Spain.

Small cafe, tapas bar in the Gothic Quarter. Everything that we ordered was fresh and flavorful. Get there when they open for booth seats and low chairs or you'll be stuck at the bar or in bar stool seats. Service was fast, so don't order too many things at once or you'll have a table overflowing with plates!

We visited Centric on our recent visit to Barcelona. It is a tiny little bar but the food was amazing. We walked in at 7.30 and were given a small table and advised the kitchen didn't open until 8. However, we had a drink and the place had a lovely atmosphere and a mix between tourists and locals. We ordered 5 tapas between the two of us and that was more than enough. It was beautiful. Really tasty and has good portions. I would definitely recommend to others.

This spot was just down Carrer des Tallers from our hotel and we had passed it a number of times. On the day my wife was at her conference at the University, I took the opportunity to have an early lunch here and was very glad I did. On a very warm day I had an ice cold beer, and a place of jamon with eggs and roasted potatoes that hit the spot perfectly, especially when accompanied by a nice toasted bread topped with a smoked anchovy.... Couldn't ask for better...

My sister and I absolutely adore this place. It became our go to spot while in Barcelona and will continue to be whenever we visit. It's quaint, and cozy, decorated with a vintage vibe. Tasty tapas, Beautifully made cocktails and a selection of loca vermut that will suit anyone's tastes. The only thing better than the vibe is the staff, who are friendly and efficient. They remember our drinks every time we visited! Highly recommended 👌 👍.

Visited on a Sunday evening after the recommendations on Trip Advisor - did not disappoint.
Arrived a bit early for food service so sat & had a bottle of wine while we waited.
Martin our waiter spoke perfect English, was knowledgeable & very attentive.
Food was extremely good, came quickly and very affordable.
Great music choice too!

If you want to experience the true Spanish Bar experience, this is your chance!
The tapas are very traditional and tasty and the service is excellent! The decoration and setting is a beautiful vintage spanish/catalan style. I love this place, a must do when in Barcelona!

The best tapas in Barcelona. Alexis the waiter is the best waiter. Giada makes the best drinks. The squid and the spinach fritters are an flavour bomb

After shopping in Mercat St. Josep/La Boqueria we recked up to Bar Centric on a recommendation. We had a couple of quick cañas we decided to stay for a bit of food. We ordered patatas bravas, calamares, padrones rellenados and we're not disappointed. Great portion size and hot. Great music for background in a very nice room with high ceilings n flowing counter display of tapas. We sat back and chatted away enjoying the early evening shade. Excelqlect bar staff with good English, not that it was necessary.
With a couple of Aperol spritz and cokes (3 of us) the bill was about €60. As Arnie'd say "We'll be baaack"

This tiny hole in the wall has great food and a fun 80s vibe. Attentive staff and good music. Some of the dishes we've not seen anywhere else. Worth a stop!
