Forn Boix had an entire table of gluten free options. We opted for the freshly baked bread and a box of Magdalenes (buns that tasted like a cross between a madeira cake and a doughnut). The magdalene buns were absolute heaven! We couldn't get enough of them. The bread was good but a little chewy - most gluten free bread... More

Happened upon this place after wandering near our Hostal... We're obsessed. Great value. Great bread/pastries. Coffee is strong and acceptable. Small, friendly atmosphere with the charm you'd expect in such a unique city.

This is a really out of the way place for a great bakery and coffee shop, located on the back street, the place is crowded, and the fresh pastries are the draw. Worth finding.

Came here after doing research on gluten free food in Barcelona as I have coeliac disease. I was very impressed! The fact everything is so carefully packaged to avoid cross contamination is amazing. I bought some margarites (like little soft pastries with jam) and they were lovely! So easy to find as well, being so close to Liceu station and... More

Bought some sandwiches and cake from here as take away. The shop had so many interesting treats on display so perhaps I made a bad choice of the food I picked. The whole meal (drinks, sandwiches and two cakes) came to just over 10 Euros, so not expensive. Was not impressed with the food though.

Staying almost next to this bakery so we had breakfast here and also used it as a coffee stop before going back to the hotel. Lots of cakes and pastries to try, clean, friendly and value for money too.

We stumbled upon this bakery when walking through the Raval and stopped to ask about the bread. I asked if they had any bread with nuts in it, and the employee showed me one in a bag. There was a sign on top of it that had a word in Spanish or catalan, and 2 euros. It was only half... More

A brilliant and place to go grab and enjoy an exquisite breakfast with extensive varieties of fresh and tasty bakeries and very good coffee. Staff are friendly, located in side street off the heart of the las ramblas.

Lovely bakery and reasonably priced. We tried a selection of croissants, doughnuts and some sandwiches all of which where delicious.

This is a wonderful bakery with a healthy slant and lots of flavors to explore. I recommend their sesame balls or wholewheat apple pies.

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
