If you like "people watching" this is great. It is in one of the main square and offers pavement seating. Food not brilliant, but acceptable.

It is a place with lots of tradition in Barcelona city center site ancient times literary circles, after meeting place for students, the university is very close, now tourists are concentrated before the tourist buses.

Overrated. Ridiculous prices and the service was rude. Spent 15 min there and they don't allow you to take your time for the things you order. Trying to push you to leave by bringing the bill and asking for the money so other people can come in. The excuse of the waiter was "just in case it rains"....?? WTF. Anyway,... More

Good cafe with outside seating overlooking Plaza Catalina so good for people watching. Reasonably priced considering location but staff were very offhand and you must pay at the time if ordering if sat outside

Timeless place to meet friends, not too pricey for a very central location. Nice hot chocolate and friendly waiters

The outside seating area overlooks the Plaza Catalunya as well as the Ramblas, so this is a great location to watch the street life passing by. Drinks and food are slightly overpriced, of course because of the location. Service is not friendly.

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
