We had the extreme pleasure of dining at Con Gracia while in Barcelona on business. when we entered the restaurant we were greeted by a smiling and jovial Jose who took a few minutes to introduce himself and asked us our names and what we...were in town for. This was a very nicely added personal touch that continued through the evening! Being far from home it felt wonderful to be addressed by our names during our meal! After settling in and ordering drinks and a nice bottle of wine. Jose let us know that we could order off the menu or we could allow him to pick our selections for us. Naturally we, we went with the option of allowing him to pick and were treated to an unbelievable evening of 14 different plates that ranged from a wonderful series of starters to delicious mains, and outstanding desserts. Our server, Sabrina (I think), took the time to explain each course to us and pointed out the different attributes of flavor to focus on. All in, this was truly one of the best meals I have enjoyed in my life! If your travels bring you to Barcelona I strongly suggest that you spend and evening with Jose and Sabrina at Con Gracia!More

What a wonderful experience! Con Gràcia awakens the senses with a brilliantly crafted five course meal with wine pairings. Jose and Sabrina provide colorful explanations of both artistic expression of food and local wine pairings. The ambience and community with other diners was an experience...we will never forget. It would be a crime to bypass this Barcelona gem.More

When we first visited con gracia it was some 13 years ago and we havent forgetten the experience. We recommended to friends who all had positive things to say. We were always talking about one day returning, knowing that returning to somewhere you had a...magical first experience came with a risk. We visited here on Valentines day and whilst it wasnt the magical experience it was the first time around, (how could it be? we waited 13 years to return and with each year im sure we built the first visit up in our minds) it was still a very enjoyable visit. The food and wine were very good and we cannot wait to go again next time we visit Barcelona. The only feedback I would give is that the host (male, sorry forgot his name) was excellent and full of energy and enthuisiasm the female whilst pleasant enough gave off a bit of a vibe that she wasnt really enjoying being there, a little jaded maybe. The atmosphere was also a little stale as the place wasnt full so didnt have the buzz that it would have if it had more people in.More

Last year, while in Barcelona for a conference, my boss invited a few of us to a “small and wonderfully special restaurant”, I was amazing to see the RSVPs land in the fastest fashion I have ever encountered - the buzz for those who had...been before of heard the stories of those who had been, was palpable. I’ve been lucky enough to eat in some really amazing restaurants in my life, including many with a coveted Michelin star or two. Well, we arrived at Con Gracias to THE MOST warm and welcoming hosts. Took our seats and anticipated the tasting menu that was about to arrive. Each course arrived with some narrative from Sabrina and Jose about the dish, its locally source ingredients and recommendations on the best way to enjoy it. Not only was this informative but such fun as Sabrina and Jose add light hearted comedy to the proceedings, gently teasing those who start before the story has been told. I don’t say this lightly, the food is sensational: each course presented like a small gift. The taste exceeds the visual expectation despite its high benchmark. The best beef I have ever encountered in my life, each dish has a complexity of taste that is as special and fun and the entertainment and hospitality of the hosts. What Sabrina and Jose don’t know about wine isn’t worth knowing. Perfectly paired tasting notes to accompany the food. When I got home, I hit the internet to order a few bottles of some of the finest wines. Sabrina thankfully suggested we take pictures of the labels of those we couldn’t live without. So, when I had the chance to visit again this year, wild horses couldn’t have stopped me from taking a seat at the small but perfectly formed table. I envied those who were joining for the first time who still had this magic to discover. Con Gracia, to you with my thanks (I hope Michelin are looking your way!)More

We had an incredible time at Con Gracia, where José and Sabrina warmly welcomed us to an unforgettable evening. Opting for the Blind menu with blind pairing was an absolute highlight; we highly recommend it! Each dish was not only delicious but expertly complemented by...beautifully paired wines. José's expertise and wonderful sense of humor added so much to the evening. Amidst laughter, we savored each dish and delighted in every glass of wine. Overall, it was a fantastic experience! We're already looking forward to going back!More

I will start off by saying that I am not a foody though the 7 others I was travelling with are most certainly more adventurous eaters. I have a simple palate but I do appreciate fine dining experiences and a relaxing yet causally elegant and...quiet atmosphere. Sabrina and Jose, from the moment we entered Con Gracia, warmly welcomed us, took the time to get to know us even by first name (and observed the two left handed diners in our group to set their cutlery appropriately). As a group we did the tasting menu, of which each course of 9 was beautifully presented and pleasing. They were all small portions but by the time we were finished eating, we were sufficiently stuffed and couldn’t eat another bite. It was a most interesting evening of uniquely prepared dishes and flavors; I was very happy to have stepped outside my comfort zone and join my foody friends for a memorable meal.More

A wonderful dining experience…from the welcoming host to the delicious food! Prepare to enjoy the chef’s selections for a many course meal or make your own choice from their offerings. We went went the “surprise” multi-course dinner and each course was a visual and tasty...delight! They also offer a wine pairing for the courses if you like. A very small, intimate restaurant that provided an exceptional dinner! Make a reservation and add it to your Barcelona “must do” list!More

I have enjoyed eating here overall but would find it a 5* experience with a few different things. The tasting menu was overall well-thought. At the beginning they asked if we wanted a suprise menu or a menu we could look at, but you had...to make a choice without knowing what the other is. I get the play, but I'd really prefer to see both options. I I also would have like to see a written menu to better keep it in my mind. Also, you have to choose the same thing as the whole table. I can't recall all the dishes we had but overall it was a considerate and interesting menu. The only piece I didn't quite see the need for was the cracker at the beginning. We had the tasting menu and wine pairing, which was a nice selection. Overall we left full and intrigued. What was also really nice was that they asked for any allergies/preferences and gracefully accomodated the allergy and gluten-free option for one friend who needed it. What didn't work for me as much was the atmosphere. It felt a little sterile and wished we felt a bit more relaxed. What we also didn't really enjoy was the naming thing. When we entered, they asked for our names and while serving and introducing the food, they referred to us sometimes by the names. If you're a regular to a place- it's great to know each other by names. But for a place you come for the first time, it really felt not authentic and awkward- in that sense it served the opposite of what it probably intended to do. And this contributed to that less relaxed atmosphere. I think if the place feel a little bit more relaxed and natural, it would really elevate the eating experience.More

Agreed - when I went there were some people dressed up and others quite casual. It's a relaxed place, but intimate enough that you can dress up a little if you like!
