This authentic downtown bar is the ultimate place for a real tapas experience and they even produce their own cava. This is a Barcelona must!

Super cosy restaurant that you feel the Spanish vibe. You can see tapas options at the bar choose whatever you want. You have cold little sandwiches as well as warm tapas options as well. Patotes with octopus was amazing. Also dishes with squid and mussels...More

Found this place by accident after walking out of the Picasso museum. We got interested when we saw people lining up in front of the restaurant even before it was open. We definitely were glad we dined here. Their tapas were so good we had...More

Small place, always crowd, where you can seat in a table or just have something to eat and drink at the counter. Very traditional in Barcelona. Very close to Picasso Museum.

We were introduced to El Xampanyet through friends on our third night in Barcelona and the only regret was that we didn’t find out about the place sooner! Beautiful food, great wine and impeccable service encased in a warm, welcoming and bustling atmosphere - we...More

The venue is located in the gothic quarter. The restaurant/bar is decorated with a lot of memorability of the region. The place is tiny but incredibly packed. People are waiting, standing and drinking, for one of the little tables. The ambiance is great! The food...More

Dinner with colleague in a informal super busy but friendly environment. Staff made us feel like home! They were busy with a packed house and several patrons standing while eating? But nonetheless took their time to provide recommendation. Food was sooo good with meat that...More

Some superb and some straight-forward tapas. You won't melt over the food but really it's so much more than that - it feels like being dropped into the heart of local Barcelona and getting hug from the locals. Just go. :-)

Very busy, crowded and great fun. We had just finished the Picasso museum tour and this place (recommended by Trip Advisor) was practically right outside the museum exit. It wasnt even noon yet on a Tuesday and the tiny restaurant was already jammed! Our party...More

El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent
the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But
this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually
enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few
places that live and breathe such exciting energy
regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood
seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the
city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants

It's really small place and really hard to find a place to sit. Most of the people are standing. However I saw couples or friend groups there. If you go early you might find a place.

I don't think that they take reservations. It's more of a first come first served situation. I would strongly recommend to go earlier before they open especially if it's a larger group of people.
