My daughter and I visited Cal Boter for dinner on a recent trip to Barcelona. This neighborhood gem serves up delicious Catalan favorites at very reasonable prices. The restaurant is well off the beaten path and caters more to a local crowd, than to tourists. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, helping us navigate the menu. We really had... More

For us the Cal Boter is a classic in Barcelona, which has been able to overcome successfully all the city tourist pressure. A place frequented by many locals and travelers which has maintained a high standard of quality in a typical Catalan menu with homemade flavors that have endured over time. We have had the opportunity to visit it several... More

It is family day on Sunday and local families are eating here. We were the only tourist and got the local charm of Barcelona. Met another local family and had drinks and dessert with them. Portions are large and reasonablly priced. A nice way to spend a few hours on a Sunday.

Really enjoyed the experience of eating calçots here! The rest of the meal was amazing as well--simple, delicious, authentic.

Small friendly restaurant where you can try some catalan specialities. The choices are numerous. We chose some dishes, and share them, to get an insight into some of the atypical choices that we found in the menu, all of the them finally splendid. As for a budget friendly restaurant, it is not, but we came around 30€ per person, with... More

When I asked my AirBnB host where he likes to eat, he said he really liked the lunch special at Cal Boter. The menu was only written in Catalan and we were the only foreigners in the room. The waiter was very patient with us though. I ordered randomly off the Menú del Día and ended up with a beer,... More

Incredibly simple and authentic Catalan cooking in a sweet restaurant tucked away in a side street. This was one of the highlights of our stay in Barcelona, the food was memorable and the restaurant was filled with locals. We ordered artichokes, Pimientos rellenos de brandada de bacalao, Mollejas de cordero a la brasa and butifarra, all of which were top... More

I first visited this restaurant 20 years ago, when Barcelona was not unite the magnet for foreign visitors it is now. It was great to find that, though there are versions of the menu beyond Catalan and the waiters are now multi-lingual, the food USC still of great quality and as authentically Catalonian as ever. Pigs feet with shrimps, snails,... More

Went there for lunch. We were three persons, me, my wife and our 2 year old boy. Not sure what happened, but our son let us eat together... The food was very good. Me and my wife had different things, because we wanted to try as many as we could, and it was the only place we're we liked everything.... More

We stopped here for a late lunch on a Monday and the place was busy with both locals and tourists. The staff were helpful with the menu as our Spanish didn't quite stretch! The food was very good and so was the house wine which was served in a traditional carafe. It was relaxing, we weren't rushed at any time... More

Staying in Gracia

Neighbourhood Profile
Gracia
Gracia literally stands out from the pack. It used to be an independent town until late into the 19th century. Though it’s just a short commute away from the centre, a visit here feels like you’re in a whole different city. The bohemian vibe has drawn many international artists to this area, resulting in a wide selection of galleries, live music and artsy boutique stores. The nightlife is centered around the vibrant Gracia’s plaças, where young and old gather to enjoy a drink outside. Carrer de Verdi, its main street, offers affordable restaurants and a movie theatre that screens new as well as classic films in their original language. However Gracia's greatest treasure lies just up the hill at Guell Park, where Antoni Gaudi's vibrant and revolutionary art sculptures stand atop unequaled views of Barcelona.
