I was fortunate to dine her and enjoy the 11 course tasting menu in the amazing chefs table overlooking the kitchen below. The quality of the fixtures and fittings (minimalist) and dining ware are immaculate as was the service. The staff were highly knowledgeable, very professional yet not stiff. Naturally, I preferred some courses over others but when they hit... More

My wife and I were in Barcelona for our 35th anniversary and wanted a memorable meal so I booked Lasarte for the Saturday dinner before our Sunday anniversary figuring that we'd finish after midnight. I was correct. Amuses were snails in citrus and foie pressed into a cube with mustard and green apple. Both imaginative and delicious. The rest of... More

This is a Michelin 2 star, so expectations were high. We had an 11 dish tasting menu and one was not good and another featured a prawn (head on) that was so undercooked that it made us nervous to eat it. The wine pairings were more about variety than matching with what was being served. That said, the pours were... More

We are in the domain of Chef Martin Berasategui in anticipation of a wonderful meal. We were not disappointed. This is a two star Michelin restaurant and deservedly so, if not more. The interior space is sleek/modern with tables spaced so as not to interfere with those nearby, the service is impeccable, the food is amazingly creative and the presentation... More

Lasarte is right off paseig de gracia in a central location. It is in a newly designed setting that is exceptional. It is quiet, tables are apart around banquettes. The staff are very knowledgeable, service is excellent and no dish is bad. We found a few exceptional items. This is on the more expensive end of the michelin starred barcelona... More

This was an amazing experience. The food as expected was excellent. The service sets this place apart. All the courses were explained well with excellent wine pairing. The perfection of choreography of the waitstaff is something to behold.

Lasarte was highly anticipated as a major part of our itinerary. It most certainly did not disappoint. We were privileged enough to sit at the chef's table. A glass room overlooking the incredible kitchen. It added so much to the experience. Chef Paolo and his entire team delivered one of the best meals of my life. And that is no... More

Don't miss it if you like great food. The tasting menu was excellent and every plate gorgeously presented and the food was inspired. I rate it even better than the three Michelin starred restaurant we visited the same week. The service was also outstanding.

Lasarte Restaurant opened in January 2006 and holds 2 Michelin stars since 2010. Lasarte is Martín Berasategui's cuisine embassy in Barcelona. After a full renovation carried out recently, the new Lasarte Restaurant is surprisingly much more modern and with more spacious and bright look. The emphasis on light, textures with dominance of oak and selection of furnishings have been the mainstay of the entire project to give the restaurant a unique personality. The culinary offer keeps the essence of Martin Berasategui's cuisine. At the head of the kitchen is Paolo Casagrande, who presents a selection of Berasategui's signature dishes with passion and enthusiasm, as well as new innovative dishes created especially for Lasarte. Joan Carles Ibáñez and his front of house team are the kitchen's ambassadors in the dining room and responsible for ensuring this wonderful cuisine reaches the table in a simply perfect way to make any visit a celebration. The restaurant has a semi-private room in the main dining room and a second private dining room, called the Chef's Table for up to 8 people -located in a loft over the kitchen with a glass wall that allows our guests to follow on all staging and creativity of the dishes.

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
