Amazing food, flavours and value, and the chef Arturo is wonderful - coming over to chat with us both times we've been.

Good Mexican food at very reasonable prices. Very hearty portions. Compared to Mexican (or actually Tex-Mex) food I've had in the United States or even in Paris, this was not the most flavorful or exciting to be honest. I do have to say that the guacamole was very good - prepared fresh from scratch. However, the staff was extremely friendly... More
If you want Tex-Mex of Californian Mexican eat it there. If you want food with amazing flavors and scrumptious cocktails eat here. Order the special of the day. Examples, duck tacos. octopus enchiladas. Create, tasty and something you won't find anywhere else. Give your self a break from Spanish food. You won't be disappointed. Small, relaxed atmosphere, reservation recommended as... More
my husband and i ate here for staff dinner last week and it was incredible! we had nachos, margaritas, queso fundito and the most amazing octopus tacos ever. we had the rib special as well with a lovely agave braise. the portions were perfect and the presentation was beautiful. you can tell they cook with passion and love. make sure... Not authentic - the menu is more Tex-Mex than true Mexican. Very limiting for vegetarians / pescatarians - my only option was to order chips and guacamole (€6.90). My friends were happy enough with their orders of Chicken Fajita (€12.65), and Beef Taquitos (€8.60). My mango maragarita (€6.10) was good. Service was entirely unfriendly but brisk and efficient. Not recommended.
It is a small charming place, the food is not quite Mexican but gets nearly there. The service was really the deal breaker - very lackadaisical and indifferent.
Ok, my fault.... I should have surrendered to the wonderful Spanish food, but my two teenagers insisted so much. It was a disappointing. Worst tortillas I ever had, tasteless guacamole, even the pic ode gallo had no flavor. The only thing that saves them is the attention... They really care and are very nice, but don't have a good cook... More
I know so many of you like this restaurant and I wonder if I am mad? However the day were were there it was terrible. The chips were over dry and the guacamole very strange. The Quesadillas were overcooked and their contents dry and "old". The Margaritas were excellent. Yes we do know Mexican food and have lived in California... More
We live in Girona and often miss the amazing Mexican food we used to have when we lived in California. Is Maguey as good as places in California? Of course not, but it is the best Mexican food we have found in Europe. Solid menu, great service, wonderful margaritas. We enjoy sitting outside on a nice day and enjoying lunch.
It's rare to find such authentic Mexican food in Europe! Everything we ordered was delicious - starter salad, chorizo quesadillas, enchilada verdes & tamales, which were the weekly special. All of that + 1L water was about 35€, a great value for the quality of food in this area of town. The cook/waiter/owner was very nice and friendly and spoke... More
