Sunday evening sat outside overlooking busy square. Food quality good, very reasonably priced. Service efficient and friendly. Not fancy food but good value.

Elegant tables in the plaza lured me as did the reputation of this place. I was turned away on my first try because I didn't get through to make a reservation until an half hour before I wanted to go and they were full. The...More

An old restaurant with a rustic charm. The waiters are really nice. You can have the menu in the main languages (a.k.a english, spanish, catalan, french and Italian if I remember well). The meats and fishes are really really good, the croquettes also. They have...More

They are serving meals since more than 100 years ago. The best "peus de porc" I ever had and nice dessert "mel i mató". The Empordà wine was gorgeous. Pity because the mediocrity of the salad "Amanida de la casa", I hope they will improve...More

Hello there, I am English, living in Fance and my family are all meeting up to spend this Christmas in Girona. We will be 6 adults, 1 x 15 year old and 1 x 4 year old. Are you able to accommodate us for a table for 8 for lunch at 13h on 25 December. If so what will be your menu on that date. Thanking you in anticipation, amitiés, Dave Gilchrist

Description
Casa Marieta was founded in 1892, at the same time as the first stage of the modernist movement (the end of the 19th century) and the opening of the old narrow gauge train line between Girona and St. Feliu de Guixols.

Ever since, Casa Marieta has offered its customers home cooking based on tradition and a familiar welcome.

The Catalan sense of tradition is evident in all the dishes currently on the menu: chicken with crayfish, roast lamb, duck with pears, sepia with peas... All home-made.

Restaurant Casa Marieta is located on the emblematic Placa Independencia, in the beautiful city centre of Girona. The cathedral, which has the widest Gothic nave in the world, can be seen from the Square.

Crossing the stone bridge over the River Onyar, you enter the heart of the old city which has a historic relationship with the Jewish community: the Jewish Call and Torre Gironella.
