Difficult to find restaurants open on Sunday. We walked to the square and chose Casa Marita because of the Trip Advisor reviews and the white tablecloths. Our waiter, Felipe was very attentive, helped me choose a local white wine and a Chilean Torres Cabernet Red,...More

This restaurant is good if you want to eat a tipical Spanish or Catalan meal. They offer good fish meals. As desert you should try the Crema catalana! You can sit either inside or outside.

I fail to understand the negative comments of my fellow countrymen and women. This place was recommended to my wife by a local resident. It's a great venue and a shame it was a rainy June evening, but that didn't spoil our dinner. Tables are...More

This is a pleasant restaurant, with great service. We've been to this restaurant three times already, and would go still again Food was good value for money, and the menu is varying, with seasonal dishes in addition to the normal menu. The girl serving us...More

We stopped at Casa Marieta for dinner after walking around all day long. The restaurant itself was nice, food tasty - however, if you are hungry like we were - beware that portions are rather small.

A very nice traditional restaurant in the heart of Girona. The place where you indulge yourself after a walk in the Old Town. Excellent value for money. Waiting service like in the old times. A mealt-in-your-mouth sirloin steak for 15 Eur... Great selection of local...More

The restaurant was nearly empty which probably explains how our 3 course meal was served in 35 minutes. We had only managed to drink half a glass of wine each when the meal was over. We started with some strange tasteless pink stuff and bread...More

My friends and I dined here this Thursday, and it was very quiet. We had originally wanted to visit one of the vegetarian restaurants in town, but it was closed and this was their next suggestion. It has a very homey interior with a giant...More

Casa Marieta was founded in 1892, at the same time as the first stage of the modernist movement (the end of the 19th century) and the opening of the old narrow gauge train line between Girona and St. Feliu de Guixols. Ever since, Casa Marieta has offered its customers home cooking based on tradition and a familiar welcome. The Catalan sense of tradition is evident in all the dishes currently on the menu: chicken with crayfish, roast lamb, duck with pears, sepia with peas... All home-made. Restaurant Casa Marieta is located on the emblematic Placa Independencia, in the beautiful city centre of Girona. The cathedral, which has the widest Gothic nave in the world, can be seen from the Square. Crossing the stone bridge over the River Onyar, you enter the heart of the old city which has a historic relationship with the Jewish community: the Jewish Call and Torre Gironella.
