A blt sandwich at 6.95 came on ciabata bread with salad, we asked for mayonnaise on the side but it was still inside the sandwich, there was very little salad, 2 slices of tomato, sloppy lettuce and 2 slices of cucumber, the 2 slices of bacon were overdone and had a greasy taste throughout the eating, very bad value for... Beer was ok. Went flat quite quick as all beer does round here, making them all taste the same. Thought we would have a sandwich to tide us over till the evening, but had to have some Chris's from the shop, as the fish finger sandwich at £6.95! Consisted of three ordinary supermarket fish fingers in a small panini with... More

We called in to this pub by chance. It was quite quiet for lunchtime at a weekend but the owner was very friendly and the atmosphere was nice. I really wasn't expecting the meals to be so amazing. I can honestly say that the fish sandwich was divine!!

A lovely fish & chunky chips meal, that was non greasy, lightly battered & well presented. Quickly prepared by friendly staff.

Our family, parents, daughter, husband and grandchildren stopped for lunch after an invigorating walk on a cold dry December day. The welcome was good with the quick witted barman making us laughWe had 2 ciabatta BLT's, a ciabatta pakora, steak and ale pie, steak sandwich with 2 portions of chips. To drink we had 4 1/2 pints of beer, a... More

We had probably the worst Sunday lunch we had ever had at this pub. It didn't start well when we saw the waitress remove a threequarter full jug of gravy from the adjacent table, only to return half a minute later with the same jug and contents which she placed on our table. At least it was hot as it... More

Good things first, we were warmly welcomed and nothing was too much trouble. We took our two dogs and the Landlord arranged a bowl of cut up cold sausages (paid for), on request for them, thank you. Also, the pints are good, however, ..... The Steak & Ale with "beer" gravy was so dry we struggled to swallow it down.... More

I looked for reasonable accommodation for 2 nights as we were attending ascot this weekend. The Sun Inn was reasonably priced with breakfast included. Now if you're looking for The Ritz 5 star luxury then don't stay. BUT if yr looking for a clean bright friendly room in a pub - this is the place. The landlord even managed to... More

Needed to escape. Booked here for secluded location. Fab old pub. Lovingly renovated mixing modern but keeping the old ( work in progress). So comfy beds. Very warm welcome. Food freshly cooked. Homemade pies a treat (inc free local pint - cask ale excellence!!). Any excuse to book here again soon.

Thank L S
