We arrived at 3:30, it was busty and we were told it would be a 10 minute wait, fine we said so sat by the bar expecting to get a drink. Well the staff were all going non-stop but there was no one serving at bar and now half a dozen of us sat twiddling our thumbs. We eventually did... More

After a very long and tiresome day Restaurant Ribs was a perfect solution for our dinner because it was across the street from our hotel. It was late Sunday night so it was nearly empty. Service was quick, ribs and stakes were good, especially the one you must grill on the table yourself. The red wine was good as well.... More

The restaurant was just down the road from the hotel so we decided to have lunch here. Service was okay, staff didnt seem to care. We ordered nachos and fries with cheese and bacon for starters; nachos were like the cheap ones you get in the supermarket but the toppings were good, the fries with cheese were very bad, little... Visited Ribs during Nov 2016 with my son. We came at ~15:00 and had to wait for 20min until getting a table. The good thing is that unlike other restaurants, you can wait inside and this is a big advantage when its raining outside. As for the food, my son ordered a big cheese burger and he mentioned that this... More

This restaurant was across the road from our hotel and we had lunch here. While the food was okay and the service a bit on the slow side, it was alright. I won't choose it again as it was overall a very average experience.

I've had here a hot hamburger with fries and sos. Despite it should be hot hamburger, it was a normal one. Portion was big enough and I didn't left the restaurant hungry. Regarding the price, I would say it's medium one.

Service was SLOW, SLOW,SLOW, starter arrived before drinks, mains arrived (there were five of us) three, then five minutes later the other two. Had to ask TWICE for a refill after it did not arrive the first time - that took ten minutes. Staff were slow, but had time to do the most disinterested line dance I have seen to... More

The food and prices are OK. Unfortunately the staff are very disappointing. The serving staff appear to work in fear of the autocrat (smiles cost extra) managing the venue. Even though we were sitting at the bar we had to ask twice for our next drink order. It's probably worth visiting after they get a decent manager, but I wouldn't... More

Very atmospheric. Does "old BBQ joint/ steakhouse better than TGIF. Lovely breaded chicken fingers and grilled wings to start. Full rack of ribs with Four Seasons Bourbon sauce ( far tastier and larger than anything TGIF have to offer- you starting to get the picture?) and beef fajitas (again far superior to TGIF) as mains. Chilled beers in jars and... More

We visited Ribs on our first night in Madrid and it was fantastic. I had the Bacon Cheese Fries to start and the Chicken Burger for my main. My fiancee shared the fries and had the Rib Salad for her main and loved it. Our 2 friends both had burgers. The staff were friendly and tried their best with their... More

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
