Go here for the fish which is wonderful. Always busy and popular. Not a bar to choose for wine, most people drink the beer.

It is a small bar in the Centre of the old town of Madrid. Hardly 3 tables but normally packed to the brim with standing room at the bar due to its great popularity and quality of its codfish - the best in Madrid. It...More

Needed a drink and a bite to eat after 4 hours of touring round the centre of Madrid. Had a piece of fish in batter with a caña for €4. Just what was called for.

Perfect, fast, friendly and nice. I loved everything about the place! And the cold wine tasted devine together with the cheese and meat balls!

The fried fish is incredible. It tastes very fresh and lightly battered. The tortilla, cheese was good but the fish is the main attraction. Very traditional place where you can stand at the bar to eat and drink (there are a few tables also).

If you a quick great snack and refreshing beer for 4.10€ this is the place. The cod fritters were some of the best I've ever had. The atmosphere made feel like a local. It was an overall fun experience. Do it!

Small bar near Plaza Mayor where they serve amazing fried codfish (3€/piece). We were staying nearby and went there maybe 3-4 times just to eat their codfish which seems to be their most popular item. Don't expect great service or cleanliness, but do go there...More

Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street
performers, colorful lights, window shopping,
restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and
churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a
collection of plazas interconnected by a network of
side streets. Some of these side streets are wide
pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so
it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as
