"La Tortillita" was very close to our hotel in the center of Madrid and we were passing by a few times and finally gave it a try. They have a menu with a lot of dishes - a lot of tortillas, hamburgers and sandwiches, salads, meals with chicken and seafood, etc. The ambience is nice and relaxed, the service was... More

We visited La Tortillita when we first arrived in Madrid! The menu was good, but not something special. Although the restaurant looks like a fast food choice, the waiters were pretty friendly!

It was my second visit (first in 2013), now with a group of friends. We tried 3 types of tortilla: with blue cheese and caramelised onions, with chistorra and with cod. All very good although I would prefer them to be baked bit more. Two of us ordered seafood paella which was good but not spectacular. We benefited from happy... More

This is a nice clean modern restaurant/bar in a pretty good location with inside and outside seating. All very pleasant and the food ( breakfasts ) and drinks were good and fairly inexpensive. My issue is the lack of character with the place. It's maybe missing a few details also and certainly didn't have any form of unique attraction or... More

Had 2 types of Spanish omelette (tortilla) here, one with cod and the other with ham. Both tasted really good and the price was okay enough too. They offer quite a few types of tortillas and the service was fine as well.

I popped in here alone whilst I was site seeing. My husband was working and I was in Madrid for a short time. I was doing a bit of a whistle stop tour and just wanted some of the traditional tapas. I greedily opted for patatas bravas, ensalada rusa and a tortillita. It was too much but I wanted to... More

This is a very ordinary looking restaurant, but my husband and I had the best seafood Paella and the best Sangria of our two stay in Spain. The price is also excellent 26 euro for a Paella for 2 and 1 litre of Sangria. The restaurant/bar also has a happy hour from 5 till 8, selling a pint of beer... More

All our products have Galatians quality, and are made carefully to get an amazing taste (the size and quality of our potato, the time of cook, our oil, etc.) We have a modern design, with great music, and we pay special attention to our customers comfort.

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
