Not going to waste words - friendly staff and really helpful. Food astonishing - soft shell crabs to die for as were black pudding brie and onion samosas. We ate more and all was equally fabulous. Such a wide range of food influences. To be...More

We had a lovely night at La Berenjena. Different tapas, with all kind of ingredients. The staff gave suggestions en comments when serving. We went back for a 2nd time.

Every dish we had here was unique - we especially loved the caprese salad and the little crabs! The free paella tapa was also great. Service was very friendly and the hostess graciously accommodated our limited Spanish. We would definitely return! FYI - they don't...More

Brilliant food in relaxed little restaurant near Reina Sofia. Caprese salad, soft shell crabs and rare steak particularly good. This was the best food we had eaten in Spain, possibly France and Germany as well.

We have eaten here twice in a few months and love this place. Its very innovative, reasonable cost and the food is great. Its located close to Atocha/Reina Sophia on a side street and is basically a bar and looks nothing like a restaurant from...More

Walking into this neighbourhood is like entering a
different country ... except it's hard to tell which
one it is. One side of Calle Lavapiés is lined with
Indian restaurants, the other with kebab shops. Men in
traditional African clothing convene outside their
businesses for long chats, and people shout to each
other across plazas and streets. Interspersed among
ethnic specialty shops are independent theaters and
