I came here for a late lunch and the interior and service was great. The food on the other hand was not. Nothing was authentic at all. The shrimp dumplings were rubbery and bland. The pho broth was not close to being authentic and they used flat noodles instead of pho noodles. Not impressed.

We were on a city trip with my wife, testing all the good food it has to offer, and wanted to try a fancy restaurant in a beautiful context. We had heard of the hotel Maria Cristina (but couldn't afford to stay there) and thought it'd be a good idea to have dinner there, also, recent reviews were quite positive!... More

food was just average, potion size for the starters was far to large would do for a main course. My friend had the duck soup it was a huge bowl far to big if you eat all this you could not manage a main course. The Cafe Saigon spring rolls had a strange taste not a taste I liked. The... More

Nice ambience, nice food, nice servers... Every detail was thought of. The food was really amazing. The only thing would be the music. Since there is a bar area under the restaurant, the music is a bit too much. Other than that, great experience!

Went on business with a special offer from Fork or El Tenedor with an added discount. The service was very good and the food was also decent quality. The main attraction is the decoration and ambience at the restaurant. They also have valet parking and tasting menus with different options. The food and place is very good but the price... More

I used to go on the old golden days when the food and the atmosphere were great, however I went back 2 years ago and it had turned to a bad Chinese restaurant, so I was really disappointed and did not returned until last week(I was kind of dreading to go but if your friends go then what the heck!)... Spent 30 minutes looking for the place, first in internet and then in the neighborhood and I couldn't find it! No wonder! Aside from the two asian lions at the entrance, the place looked completely abandoned! Annoying!

Went to visit Cafe Saigon las night, with lots of expectations as it was described to me as a classic place for Vietnamise food excellence. The restaurant is pretty, you can see it's been there for some time. Too bad it was too hot and could not use the terrace for dinner. The service was good, the prices high/ average.... More

Went here in late June at the recommendation and with friends. My first reaction was "this is really fancy-shmancy" and it was. Nice to see all personnel asiatic and possibly Vietnamese. Service was good and courteous and prompt and the place was possibly 45% full on a Wednesday night. I liked the food but having eaten Chinese the day before... More

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighbourhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighbourhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
