I had a nice iced mocha, and the lady had a berry infused tea. It was quick and reasonable and the Terraza is the kind of place from which you like to take pictures. There are exquisite eating options within a few blocks, including San Miguel,so there is little reason to take the risk of mediocre food or bad service,... More

Fast service, on an end of August Saturday when nothing was open to eat at 5pm. The salad was well presented and actually really nice.

We entered "Cafe y Te" just by chance - it was looking good from outside. But that's all. We ordered crepes with nutella for our kid, a coffee, capucchino and one more dessert. We waited more than 20 minutes and meanwhile I was asking the waiter about our order and we were not getting a response. While we were waiting,... More

Terrasse looks very nice but service was really bad never seen in Spain. Truly avoid and spend your money elsewhere.

Very cosy setting, non existent clueless service, decent freshly squeezed orange juice, ok cortado, stale bread, inedible slice of tortilla made with cheapest potatoes imaginable dry on the edges and inside, crumbling into starch dry in ones mouth. I am only giving two stars because of the interiors.

Come here if: You want free WiFi (though if you sign in with Facebook you may have to like the place). E.g. To look for another restaurant. If you want an OK fruit smoothie in a town that serves the best of food. Or If you want a quick OJ fix. This place prides itself on nothing special. Though its... More

Its hard to know where to start when describing the awful lunch my friends and I experienced in Cafe y Te (Calle Arenal 20, Madrid) On Saturday 13th of February. Im going to start with finding a hair in one of our pizzas, which was taken away with no apology and a fresh one returned. Ironically this was the least... More

Unfortunately they named "churros" to this disgusting dough and deep fried in old oil. The chocolate was okay though... They should improve the recipe!

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighbourhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighbourhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
