Excellent inventive cuisine with large enough portions to escape the modern day tag of tiny yet beautiful!! We had fried sea anenome , squid, monkfish and Carabineros with great deserts. Highly recommended!

If you feel like a bit of posh tapas, this is the place to go. But be aware, it's quite small so if you go at typical spanish hour it'll get crowded. There is also a restaurant area, which is also reduced so book in advance if you fancy a go. The star tapa is the monteria a grilled mussel... More

I have been to La Monteria a few times. It is always really busy so make sure to book in advance. This last time I went with a friend. We had the lascas de foie with mango and crujiente, arroz con rape and rabo de toro deshuesado. The rice was somewhat disappointing in my opinion but the other two dishes... More

This is a superb restaurant in all respects. In our opinion, it should rate as a strong one star on the Michelin rating system.

Some meals are so good that you can only say they are among the best. Each is different and hard to compare. The Menu Classico at La Monteria falls in this category. It is refined and exquisite food at a very fair price. After a lovely aperitif, the meal started with several tasty appetizers: mango+foie gras, iberian ham & parmesan,... More

I went there with my cousins because it was their last day in Madrid. As always the service was great and fast. Very friendly as soon as a fork fell or someone called them before your could look up they were there for you. I ate Rissoto de Setas silvestres. It was great and VERY tasty. Simply Excellent

This small bar near the Retiro park can offer you a taste of what it is like to eat tapas in Spain with a gourmet experience at every bite you take. The place is normally busy and crowded and the most normal thing would be to eat while standing up right after you enter their premises (few chairs are taken... More

We were a little concerned when we were taken to the restaurant area. Spare decor is putting it mildly. But we needn't have worried. Food was creative and interesting, portions huge, wine list impressive and prices reasonable (EUR 120 total for two people for three courses and a bottle of wine and water). Great atmosphere too as the place isn't... More

Everything is just great here since the moment you walk in the door. As soon as you order your drinks, the bring you something to nibble on. The "adobo de cazón" was my favorite buth everything is great. We also had the "setas" (different mushrooms), and loved them.
