Highly recommended for local cuisine. Opens at 7pm and fils up quickly. Right behind Station Atocha. While all food is superb would recommend Brinjal 'Milanesa' and Cod fish with olive oil and garlic. Eat like the locals. They also serve excellent local wines.

Had a 2 1/2 hour stopover in Madrid at Atocha this Sunday . Found this place close to some luggage lockers. It was busy and buzzing but the manager was so charming and attentive- he found us a table and helped adjust our order when he thought we’d ordered too much. The food was absolutely delicious! As was the wine and vermut. Highly recommended.

Typical Madrid dinner, simple menu and fair prices. Fast and kind service. The bodegas is frequented by locals. For two with an entrantes, two dishes and two beers we spent 47 euros. I recommend it and would go back.

We will not return, not even for free, terrible service, bad food and, the worst part, that they try to scam you. We ordered a portion of bravas, a toast and two soft drinks. A waiter with a South American flavor brings us a plate of fried potatoes in strips with an orange sauce, saying that they were bravas. Sorry, but I'm from Madrid, and patatas bravas have always been square and in large cubes. In addition, they served us a cake with ingredients other than those that appeared on the menu and that we had ordered. Not happy with that, when they brought us the bill, we reviewed it before paying, and we realized that they had included 6 euros more for two soft drinks that they had taken out of their pocket. Come on, some shit and also everything of poor quality, very expensive and very bad. They better close it...

Looked forward to our visit to this awarded restaurant.
Very disappointed from start to finish.
Hearded to bar when arrived .Service not good and we were treated as intruders. We seeked out a corner table so we could order lunch.Ordered wine for myself and wife .
We drink different wine.
I was told I had to order a bottle if I wanted room tempature wine.I had to suffer a red wine from the fridge. No worries wife drinks cold rose wine.
Shortly after at next table only a glass of wine served which was a new bottle of correct temperature wine. Our food was second rate .Revuelta with prawns had 3 tiny tinned or frozen prawns YUK
The service from the staff member was terrible and rude.If a tourist don't Go better places .

Consume quickly and go! It seems that this is the prevailing philosophy in this place. We had the disastrous experience of being served by a short man, apparently the manager, with a bad attitude and very rude. What promised to be a dinner with friends turned into a very unpleasant experience. The fact that they charged us €50 for three toasts and a scrambled egg is, without a doubt, a minor issue. We will not return, but it is unfortunate that people like this are working in front of the public and that establishments that defend this treatment are always full. Maybe we should reflect on the topic.

The service is pitiful, they treat us like sheep, we arrived at 7:30 p.m. and they already told us that we had to be out at 9:00 p.m. (despite not accepting reservations). As soon as we finished the portions, which were brought all at once, they took away our plates, in the last straw, the beer and not content with asking twice if we were going to have something else, they wiped the table with the cloth under our noses and As we continued talking, he put up a "ask the staff" sign. Given this, we already told him to bring us the bill because he was a bore and his response, among many others, was "That this was not from the City Council, that they were there to make money." IT WAS 8:40 PM.
I hope that at some point people will stop being fooled and start demanding professional hoteliers and good education.

This restaurant was recommended by a local resident we met on the road. Generally speaking, we don’t drink much, so we could only order beer. Although there was an English menu, we didn’t understand it very well. We ordered octopus and sausage with wine. Grilled lamb chops, Spanish tapas, and pork slices, and a salad. Judging from our Taiwanese standards, the food is very expensive, but it should be average in Spain. The Spanish tapas are not bad, and the octopus is not what we are used to. The way to eat it was okay. What everyone disliked was the pork slices. What everyone particularly liked was the salad. We had to order an extra portion after we finished it.

We ate here twice during our holiday of several days because we liked it so much and, above all, it tasted so good!
The restaurant is divided into two different little shops, but they are right next to each other.
It is very cosy and wonderfully authentic. The waiters are all super nice, and the tapas just great! We also really liked the wine advice and selection.
We can absolutely recommend this restaurant and would definitely come back next time we are in Madrid.

A real gem that is hidden behind Atocha Station but well worth a slight detour to go and eat. Worth making a reservation as it gets very busy! The eggs with morcilla and the pulpo with purple potatoes are a must, both dishes are absolutely superb. The atmosphere and decor are just amazing and along with the fantastic staff, this is a must-visit restaurant in Madrid.

Up to 5 times the manager came to bother us as long as we left, insisting on coming to bother us until he succeeded, because he was annoying and rude.
They have the nerve to tell you that they only put an appetizer in the first drink.
The manners of the person who is said to be the manager are terrible, if I were the owner I would not take long to fire him, because it harms the business.
There are too many bars in this neighborhood and in this city to waste your time with such miserable and shabby staff. It's not worth visiting

Complete disappointment. We really wanted to visit this restaurant, based on recommendations from friends and reviews. It must be said that the service was good and fast. It may be a place to have wine and tapas, but not to have a meal. We tried the Rosell cod, tail meatballs, broad beans and fried cod, and nothing caught our attention, burnt broad beans by the way. For starters we ordered a salad and some croquettes.

Extremely rude waiter! We were a group of people waiting for the bar to open and one of the waiters said we could wait in the tables outside until they opened. Then a second waiter arrived, who openened the bar 30 min late (at 7:30pm instead of 7pm) was incredibly rude to us saying/barking we couldn't sit there as if we had done something wrong. So rude we got up and left to another place nearby. In Spanish, unos bordes, pero muy bordes.

Cocido reservation at 3:00 p.m. for 11. Due to force majeure, there were finally 9 of us.
The food was good, a normal, simple stew. The place is nice in the basement.
But the attention was unpleasant. We were not comfortable since the waiters' faces and their manners were not appropriate. Edges and drys is the word. In a hurry at the end, and leaving us since they close at 5, something they should indicate at the beginning to organize themselves.
We will not return as we value the treatment as much as the rest.

This was very much a neighborhood bar in Atocha near the Railway Station and visited by locals and one suspects few tourists but we were welcomed and it was enjoyable experience. The food quality was very good and the staff friendly. Rated more for atmosphere.
