The melange of taste, textures, flavors is just incredible. Real umami in the bean stew which is buttery and yet so flavorful. The zugs, red and green are stunning. The stuffed red peppers are so rich in clove, cumin, etc. Everything on the menu is incredible. We couldn’t stop eating. Eating here is the equivalent of being hit with a flavor bomb. The music is lovely. Ambiance and service are top notch.

We looked for a vegan cuisine and find this place. The food is so delicious, tasteful and served as a gourmet look a like.
The staff is so nice and the owner is just charming!! Thank you! Very recommended even if you are not a vegan.. Super food!!

Ate here twice with family on our recent trip to Madrid. Nice cozy restaurant with lots of vegetarian options. Food is really yummy, made fresh with high quality ingredients.

I was eating yesterday with my partner, we ordered the menu and the waiter was very attentive and friendly at all times. He explained the dishes to us and made the appropriate recommendations. The food is very good, and the price is competitive, to repeat without a doubt.

This is a fabulous restaurant. Initially we’d gone to Vega at Calle Álamo, but it was packed full (a sign of how good it is, you should also visit) and La Hummuseria was the nearest vegetarian place. And what a lucky find it was! A friendly welcome, a lovely venue, down to earth yet funky, and super-nice staff. Excellent value for money too.
We began with the spicy watermelon. You might think spice and watermelon don’t work together, but they do – very good, fresh and piquant. Then hummus with mushrooms, served with pita bread. Really nice, brought a smile to the face. Then Maklouba (aromatic rice with cauliflower, eggplant, onion, potato, parsley, cilantro, almonds, and lemon) – a lovely mix of tastes – plus the white beans dish. This was splendid – slow cooked beans, big, full of flavor. Just wonderful.
We visited again about a week later, and it was just as good. We had the spicy watermelon again, since it was so nice and then a different style of hummus, the beet carpaccio, and Khoresht Sabzi (a Persian stew with red beans, fresh herbs and black lemon) – it was fabulous.
This next paragraph will only be of interest to wine freaks:
There was one wine on the list that I particularly wanted to drink, the Clos Lojen (made from the bobal grape), a wine I often drink at home. On this evening, our server was quite new to the job - she was lovely and charming – and it took a few minutes to establish the restaurant had none in stock. I’m not writing this bit to complain, not at all – indeed it’s a good sign of quick wine turnover, so you’re not getting a bottle that’s been lying around in the heat. No; I only mention this because I know from experience Clos Lojen is a lovely wine (I have gushed about it on cellartracker) and good QPR even at restaurant prices – so if they have it back in stock when you visit (I urge you to visit) you should try it.
I will certainly revisit La Hummuseria next time I am in Madrid.

Different from it's cousin shop, Falafeleria, this is great for sit down, simple and so yummy meals. Like Falafereria, the food is amazing! The hummus is excellent, and comes in a few varieties (mixed with cauliflower, nuts, and more). Other dishes are more traditionally "Spanish-mediterranean" are super good too.
Staff is super friendly and helpful. I usually talk with them in Spanish but have heard the staff speaking in English for others.
The lemonade is fresh and yummy, but they also have cocktails.
Oh, and all vegetarian! A real plus for people like me.

We were looking forward to try the food at the Hummuseria and were NOT disappointed we shared Maklouba, Tahini verde with pitas, Babaganush (with Sjug verde that we put to everything!) the separate chili with garlic was amazing too and the Lemonana was very refreshing. Now that I see the bill seems to be very few things, but the table was full and we were happily satisfied. Only we couldn’t finish dinner without the Kadaif sandwich with ice cream.
All a dream, and Andrea was very sweet and helpful with her recommendations, we would have eaten there every day, but we had to taste other specialities from Madrid, We hope we can go back to La Hummuseria again!!!
(Sorry I didn’t take pictures, we were busy eating 😬 )

Let's not talk about it as a vegan/vegetarian place. The food is great but I wanna speak about the service. I am a manager of a restaurant and when I eat or drink somewhere I cannot avoid my self to throw an eye to the style and approach of the service. In my experience in Madrid I've been, between lunch and donner, in twelve places (not a few, not too many but it's still a statistic) and I haven't had the chance to observe good service. Except here. Here the girls (when I went there were only girls, blonde and dark hair) they actually know what they do and have to do. First: they're nice with you! Lovely and sweet and they give you a sense of hospitality. Second: they are fast, precise with a smile on their faces. Third: they do things in the right way, like giving you the proper for glass for the wine and pour the right amount. Just a little hint to improve your service: let the customer have a taste before, I know when you're busy maybe there isn't time or maybe this has to be done if you can answer the questions about the wine. This job is complicated and 90% of the people doesn't know. Anyway, great job! Keep up the good work!
Go there, the hummus is amazing!

My wife and I arrived without a reservation on a Saturday night in October and were lucky to get the last available table. We ordered a hummus plate and the shuksasa to share, with glasses of wine. The place was hopping but the food and wine both arrived at the table within a reasonable time. We were seated in the little glass alcove and so had a view of the busy life of the street outside. The food was delicious. Highly recommended.

Five adults ate here, the food was delicious and the staff could not be nicer! For some unknown reason the lights went out in the dining room but fortunately the kitchen was still in service. We had plently of light from the street. Would definitely eat here again!

This was a wonderful experience for our family. Our server was very friendly and very tolerant of our ridiculously awful Spanish.
The food was very good. The hummus and warm pita bread was the best I’ve ever had. The menu is excellent for vegetarians, but it is limited. It is in a busy area, and very easy to go for a stroll after dinner.

Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
