This was incredible. I had never seen a flamenco show before, nor was I aware that our group would be seeing a show. It was a fantastic surprise! The show was a brand new and wonderful experience that I would happily pay for again. Also the tapas were authentic and very worth a second visit. Overall, a wonderful time was... More

No one in my group had ever seen flamenco performed before this. Let me tell you that we were not disappointed! The intensity and drama of the performance was beyond what I can articulate here! The two dancers were amazing, to say the least. The audience was enthralled from the first moment to the last. The singers and guitarists were... More

Casa Patas offers a wonderful flamenco show. None of the frilly tourist trash, but the real thing. But I do recommend eating elsewhere before the show. The food was average at best, and the price did not reflect quality or quantity of the food. It is too expensive for what you get.

We didn't eat at the restaurant, rather attended the show in the back of the restaurant. Amazing dancing, singing and guitar playing. Really wish had of planned ahead and had dinner beforehand as the food looked great. Can really recommend this as a highlight of any Madrid trio

We had a dinner and saw the Flamenco show. Both were of a very good taste. The staff is highly qualified. Extremely recommended.

Starting from the good crisp bread, me and my colleagues tasted very good dishes as Madrid-style tripe, roasted octopuss. The rabo de toro was excellently cooked. Personnel is very kind and professional. My actual mark would be 4.5/5.0.

Assuming you are not one of 40 pre-booked on a Saga tour (see reviewer below), you will greatly enjoy this place. Book for the flamenco session first in the backroom (shows at 20h00 and 22h30). Full on, raw and superb entertainment. Vibrant, powerful, emotional Spain. Food was first class, service excellent, mainly locals. It has a buzz and busy ambience.... More

I visited this restaurant with 40 work colleagues as part of a trip abroad. We arrived and were seated according to dietary preference: Vegetarians, meat eaters, and fish. We had arranged some kind of set menu. I thought this would be because we would share a lot of small tapas dishes, and it seemed to make sense. This was not... More

Great setting, a bit further away from city centre which keeps away some tourists. Tapas served in mini dishes a good prices. Excellent typical dishes, great food. Friendly people. You want to have quick bite during your stay, this is the place. Recommend Lentejas (lentils), Judiones (white bean stew), Huevos rotos (eggs).

Restaurant - Live Spectacle Reference of the Flamenco art in Madrid - The singularity of Casa Patas is the combination of traditional restoration and high quality flamenco performances.Located in the ground floor of a building dated in the 1880´s in Lavapies district. After decades of history, Casa Patas has been able to earn, not without effort, the respect of the flamenco lovers and has become a reference of this art in Madrid.Tavern Restaurant Casa Patas takes great care of the quality of its products, respecting at the same time the values of the Mediterranean traditional kitchen. Some appreciated products of our gastronomy, like Iberian ham, the best cheeses, and an excellent wine selection are offered next to traditional high- quality Spanish cooking (ox tail, lamb chops and superb home-made desserts).LIVE FLAMENCO SHOWSThe history of Casa Patas is one of the evolution of flamenco through the last decades. By its scenery have passed the most excellent flamenco names.Every year, 300 performances take place, carried out by more than 100 different flamenco groups. These never leave spectators impassive nor the most purist fans nor visitors who approach flamenco for the first time. Specialized guides and media describe Casa Patas like “the temple of flamenco”. And our desire is that its name will continue to grow.

Staying in Huertas

Neighbourhood Profile
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighbourhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighbourhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
