How do you make a salad taste that good? From the starter this restaurant served up to its Trip Advisor reputation. We ate from the set menu (which at €16.95 for 3 courses was a huge bargain). There was nothing fancy or convoluted about the food here but it was probably the best I have had in a restaurant because... More

Went here one evening after seeing good reviews online. We weren't disappointed. We were given a warm welcome, there were a few people in , we hadn't booked so happy to get a table. I had mussels which were in a light sauce, I asked the chef what it was but he said laughingly it was a secret! This followed... More

Had a return visit to this lovely little restaurant on Wednesday. Again excellent food, good service. It's small so must book in advance. In particular the pumpkin soup, chicken with walnuts and the sole were excellent.Fred the owner comes out to see all his guests and has a little chat, nice touch. Thanks for a lovely evening, would highly recommend.

The food was superb, the staff friendly , welcoming and they spent time chatting to us and making us laugh. Very interesting night but bring cash as they don't take cards or has they... More

We were recommended to the Vagabond by a local bar, it was my wife's birthday and we were treated to an excellent evening the French chef Fred cooked marvellous food and the service was exceptional, the whole restaurant was as if we were in his own home and it is a must visit if you are in the old town... We looked on trip Advisor and decided to try out this wee gem and we are so pleased that we did. It's a small and intimate restaurant and the service and welcome from the owner was very warm and welcoming From allowing me too borrow some glasses (thank you for the red ones!), to serving us a taster of his... We ate here last night, what a treat. I had the mussels which were cooked to perfection and accompanied by a delicious sauce which I've never had with mussels before. My husband had the avocado and shrimp salad which he said was very good. I had the chicken stuffed with spinach and blue cheese and accompanied with a peach and... More

2nd time here and just as good as the first time! Food and service was excellent and at a really attractive price. No surprise this is no 1 on Tripadvisor, it's well deserved.
