We wanted to try the famous Sorbillo pizza in its historic location and we booked in the afternoon for the same evening; once we arrived there were a lot of people at the entrance, we had to wait a bit and remind the waitress of our name several times but the wait, due to the fame of the place, was amply rewarded! The pizza is made according to the ancient Neapolitan tradition in its "wagon wheel" variant, very thin and very wide, which makes it very pleasant on the palate in the union with the flavors of the toppings, delicate and harmonious with each other. We tried a pizza with the addition of sea water at the end! The balance was perfect! Always according to Neapolitan tradition, the price is fair and economical, even for pizzas richer in toppings. Organic and SlowFood products are proudly and rightly listed on the menu. The grating on the window with the profile of Pulcinella is nice. The pizza here is really delicious and perfect! A bit of a wait for room service but it's understandable for the place you are in To return!!!

We went to this pizzeria on a weekday, there were more or less around 20 people but we were seated after 10-15 minutes. The waiter quickly asked us what we were having, but the pizza arrived after half an hour, a little too long for a pizzeria like this. The pizza was still excellent, slightly thin but maybe I'm used to something else

The restaurant is popular. I did have to wait about 20-30 minutes to be seated. I ordered a traditional Margherita pizza (but with double mozzarella). It was amazing and the best part is that even with a soda and a water, the whole bill was less than 15 euros. The pizza itself was only 6.50 euros. For a Michelin rated restaurant, I could not believe the food and the ambiance (and service) I received for the cost.

As a Neapolitan DOC, I had been avoiding this pizzeria for more than 10 years, since as soon as it reached popularity the quality of both the products and the service dropped dramatically (I draw a pitiful veil on the public figure that Mr. Gino created between whining and fake attacks), but I had some foreign friends visiting Naples who insisted on going there. Apart from the long queue, the staff tries to be as kind as possible but, given the rhythms of the place and the scarcity of staff (few waiters / cashiers), they are unfortunately not able to offer a good service (even if not their fault!). In a hurry, our 5 pizzas arrive, all with the white white cornice and some with the topping concentrated only on one side, an indication of the fact that even poor pizza makers are super in a hurry. Dishes, cutlery, and glasses were taken away from us in record time, rightly to make room for the other people who made 45 minutes in a row for a 20-minute service. One of the worst pizzas ever tried in Naples, to avoid at all costs.

I was there on a Friday night with a friend of mine. After waiting 40 minutes to sit down, we ordered two simple daisies and they were salty and chewy, two daisies that any other pizzeria in Naples could do much better. Pineapple pizza is also on the menu... now it's just a trap for tourists with medium-high prices. Avoid standing in this useless queue that is not worth it!

Extremely negative experience. We signed up in the queue and were not given a waiting time, we waited two hours to enter and when it was our turn we had a terrible welcome, rude and nervous waiters, hurrying in choosing what to eat because the kitchen was at the end, without the possibility of choosing between all the dishes on the menu. And shortly afterwards they were almost kicked out because the place absolutely had to close at the indicated time. Wasted an evening all in all

We went to dinner, we signed up to queue at 9pm, 2 hours of waiting standing in the middle of a shocking mess. The girl sitting outside smoking her cigarettes while glaring at her is absurdly unpleasant and rude. We enter at 11pm to discover that half the menu can no longer be ordered because the kitchen is closed!!! No appetizers, no fried foods. Table with only plastic glasses and cutlery on it. No tablecloth, not even paper placemat (the pizza that came out of the plate directly touched the table of questionable cleanliness). As soon as we sat down, not even two minutes to read the menu which we immediately had to order, because it was late! ANXIETY. You don't even need them, they leave everything on the table and you have to pass the things around. Bottled supermarket beers. Let's not talk about wine. Plate removed from under my nose while I was still chewing. At a certain point, seeing as they had to close, the waiters started banging everything, chairs, boxes, a shocking mess. All rude. It was really BAD. An evening in discomfort. How disgusting. Oh the bathrooms were disgusting too. Avoid this paid torture.

Possibly one of the best pizzas in Naples. They have a lot of fame...and that's why you have to wait at the door to have dinner, but it's so worth it (you have to sign up for a list and wait for them to call you, we were there for about 45 minutes) Located in the old town of Naples , the quality and variety of their pizzas is incredible. In addition, they provide service until late and that makes it a lot easier. The price of the very affordable pizzas (range from 8 Eur to 10/11 Eur) Super recommended...

Half an hour for the employee to approach us to receive the request. Inclusive customers arrived and she cleaned the table so that they could sit without yet approaching our table...I repeat 30 minutes after we sat down!!...note: she was in turn so... First ordered pizza, completely burned...the replacement employee, well, withdrew and ordered new pizza! Second pizza, with a very strong oven taste, which overlooks everything...we were on the first floor...bathroom in the basement inappropriate for people with difficulties. The worst meal in Italy and the worst pizza I've ever eaten!! Oh, bad!!

6/12/23 Sorbillo the "smart one". Pizzeria-restaurant Sorbillo in front of the most famous Pizzeria which always has queues at the entrance (we Neapolitans will never be able to understand why) We had a margherita pizza with anchovies and a marinara. Pizzas served lukewarm and one of them without the required ingredient, however inserted later: pizza even less hot. Burnt pizza. But the surprise came on the bill: they charged us for both the cost of the covers and the service. In Naples we say good-naturedly: " è na supirchiaria ". When I asked what the difference was between cover charge and service, neither the (innocent) cashier nor the (alleged) manager were able to answer me. They turned their backs. That's enough for me to say that Sorbillo will never again have the honor of having me in one of his pizzerias. Then, I found out whether putting the service charge plus the cover charge is a correct practice. In fact, on the menu, in small letters, both the cover charge and the service charge (10%!) were included. The "legal" question remains controversial and I will not dwell on it as I am not competent. But if the cover charge implies cutlery, cleaning etc. , the service (I explain it to Sorbillo) is always understood as the extra (bread, oils, condiments, breadsticks, etc.), which we did not consume because it was not served to us (nor would we have consumed it being pizzas). But I am sure that Sorbillo will change this practice and will commit to serving piping hot, not lukewarm, pizzas. Let's also say that these two management methods have nothing to do with the idea that true Neapolitans have of Naples and its traditions. Therefore, it will be the case, dear Sorbillo, that when you go on television (one day yes and the other too) you explain that, in Naples, you act like a Milanese. Neapolitanism is something else. As a Neapolitan, I am very sorry to give one star to a pizzeria that is part of our tradition. Yesterday morning I went to the office in Piazza Vanvitelli al Vomero to make a reservation with friends for the same evening at 8.00 pm. Mr. Vittorio's response: "There is no problem for that time! You can come easily!" Well, at 8.00 pm we showed up at the pizzeria but a bold-looking gentleman with a list in hand told us: "have you booked?" We clearly pointed out what had been told to us in the morning by Mr. Vittorio , but without batting an eyelid he told us that we would have to wait about forty minutes or sit outside under the gazebo... in the cold! Advice: if you open a new location, pay attention to who you put in reception. The first business card is: "politeness, kindness and reliability" so as not to make a bad impression, then ... we evaluate the pizza!!! In the end we went to the Gorizia pizzeria...always a guarantee!

We waited outside for over an hour. The takeaway bar opposite the restaurant allows you to wait in a friendly atmosphere. Finally, our name is called. No frills in this restaurant, only pizzas at minimum prices. It's good, very good, the products are fresh and quality and it's very inexpensive. A nice moment to taste real Neapolitan pizza!

Terrible service... the girl arrives at the table with a damp cloth, cleans the table, puts the cloth aside and with the same hands with which she touched the cloth, without cleaning them, takes the cutlery and glasses and serves them at the table. Beyond this, the table where we sat, very dirty (dirty old) in the cracks between the iron and the marble. In addition to the very high prices of pizzas and drinks, you pay a cover charge and you also pay for the service (10% of the total) I won't go back. There are pizzerias at the same level with lower costs.

Mena Cassella, Naples via scarlet If you are looking for an authentic Neapolitan dining experience, Gino Sorbillo in Via Scarlatti is a must! The pizzeria is renowned for its traditional pizza, prepared with fresh and high quality ingredients. As soon as you cross the threshold, you are greeted by a lively and welcoming atmosphere, typical of the best pizzerias in Naples. The choice of pizzas is wide, but Margherita is a real masterpiece: the dough is light and well leavened, with a golden and soft crust. San Marzano tomato, buffalo mozzarella and fresh basil combine perfectly, creating an explosion of flavors with every bite. The service is friendly and attentive, although the pizzeria can be crowded, so it is advisable to book in advance. Prices are absolutely reasonable considering the quality of the food. In conclusion, Gino Sorbillo is an institution in Naples for pizza lovers. Don't miss the chance to taste one of the best pizzas in town!

Disastrous, We are greeted like strangers without smiling, once at the table, the waiters forgot us, we waited 40 minutes and again I had to go ask to come and take the order. Pizzas arrive, already bigger than the dish, they fall on the table, moreover they are full of oils, pizzas are translucent and runny, the dough must be 1mm thick and lack of tomato sauce. Finally, the icing on the cake, at the checkout, for 2 pizzas and two drinks 43€, we find ourselves paying 5 euros of cover costs and 5 euros of "12% service"? I just paid the Award for a third pizza for wind. After a 14-day roadtrip, I think it was our worst pizza in Italy, I don't understand the reviews.
