Our first visit to Trattoria Tritone was in 1996 . We had several memorable meals there and returned again in 2000. After 16 years we were back in Rome with our daughter and met Antonio and his son Luca again . The familiarity and warm hospitality of this family run trattoria has stood the test of time . The food... More

Higher end restaurant with excellent food. The sucking pig was better than Spain. Everything else was great. Service was slow, but it allowed us to have a leisurely meal. One of my two favorite restaurants in Rome. Will definitely return.

The restaurant had a nice ambiance and the singer in particular was a cosy addition. The wine and the starters were fine, but the pasta was really horrible. Our table ordered 3 different kinds of pastas (vongole, carbonara and caccio et pepe) but all were equally disasterous only tasting like butter and nothing else, not even the bacon in the... More

The place looked cosy enough and the buffalo mozzarella was really tasty, unfortunately all pasta dishes we tried(three different ones of them!) all tasted mainly of melted butter.. and not much else... It is truly strange that a carbonara, a spagetti vongole and the roman signature pasta cacio e pepe all tasted the same.. butter.. Rome is ful of good... More

The place looked nice and cozy. The starter was nice that we shared, but all of us were unhappy with the main courses. All three pastas were soaking in butter with no taste that they should have had.

We discovered this 'trattoria' 2 years ago with the attempt of getting a little further away from the touristic commercial restaurants....and it was a YES!! It conserves the traditional Roman 'antipastos' and the traditional service. Fortunately they do open continuously so no worries about the closed Roman kitchen at 15:00. We especially enjoy the delightful touch of 'pecorino romano' served... More

We've been coming to this trattoria for more than ten years and never did it fail to meet our standards. Service is very friendly, food is unfailingly very good, the wine list covers the major labels, and prices are honest. Tourists seem to have discovered it, as their number has increased noticeably.

Reasonably priced compared to other restaurants in this popular area . Very close to Trevi Fountain. Oh and decent portions. I would come again.

It looks nice from the outside so we went for dinner there with my wife. The inside area is not as stylish though. The service was average at best. The food was mediocre and the price too high for what it was. We even got charged for side dishes we didn't order. We've been to much better restaurants for that... More

We found this restaurant on TA and we are so happy that we did. We ordered the cheaper "house wine" which wad good but not great (the wine did better the more we drank - go figure). We'd probably order a different red wine but it would probably cost more. For dinner my wife ordered the gnocchi with Gorgonzola Cheese... More

Staying in Trevi

Neighbourhood Profile
A non-stop photo and souvenir opportunity, Trevi is all about action. From early morning through the wee hours, the piazza surrounding Trevi Fountain hosts a never-ending flow of tourists hoping to make a wish or take a selfie. Clever restaurants, charming gelaterias, uncanny bars, kitsch shops, and a range of hotels make up the local landscape. Beneath the bustle are the remains of an ancient neighbourhood that you can visit by heading over to a repertoire cinema and asking for a peek underground. There is something for everyone, but if peace and quiet are what you seek, plan to visit in the early morning hours.
