Sorry thats finished is what I was told about three menu items at 20:00 o'clock on a Monday night. I settled on a steak that was so thin it only had one side. The roasted potatoes saved the meal. This place is frantic with only two people covering the entire restaurant I have this thing about sitting in front of... More

We arrived to our hotel at 11 pm and looked for something to eat when we stumbled on this wonderfull restaurant. The pasta was simple , al dente and just prefect. The crema chantili was divine!

It took walking past it a few times before we managed to find the place: there is no sign on the front. This place was recommended for an Italian grilled cheese - and that was truly outstanding. Very yummy. Basically the only reason to go here. Service was slow, house wine undrinkable, and pasta quite average. They did have free... More

This neighborhood trattoria, tucked on a mixed residential street, was our last meal in Rome, and, it was excellent. There's no signage outside, but you will see people going inside the lit building. It's a popular and busy place with locals, so make reservations. Of the pasta dishes, I highly recommend the cacio e pepe, a creamy cheese with pepper... More

An Italian friend living nearby recommended Trattoria Valentino, and it was a true gem! A bit hard to find since there is no sign above the door, but it's clear the neighborhood residents are very familiar with this charming little place. We had no problem conversing with the owner in a mix of Italian, Spanish and some English. The food... More

The staff at the hotel we stayed in recommended this restaurant and I am so glad we went! Cozy and casual atmosphere, we were quickly seated. Drinks and antipasti were ordered and brought to us promptly. I turned around and saw that the place was packed (this was maybe a 15 - 20 min window between the time we walked... More

This place was recommended to us by our apartment host. We were the only Americans in the place. The wait staff was charming and worked to make sure she understood what we wanted. Food was very good, prices decent and although a bit crowded between tables, it was fun to rub shoulders with the locals.

My wife and I stopped for dinner around 7:00 and were seated promptly. She ordered the cheese and pepper pasta and I the sausage and mushroom pasta. As it always happens, hers was a better dish than mine. We got a half litter of the house red wine which was excellent. Considering the cost, it was a very good meal.... More

An informal delight. A well run small trattoria. Excellent food, with a strong emphasis on "grilled cheese". The cheese and pepper pasta was delicious too.
