We loved this restaurant, it is family run and the food is amazing. Fresh and home cooked its simplicity is so appealing. We had the pork which was soft and flavoursome and cooked to perfection. A litre of good white or red wine is only €7.00 and the whole menu is reasonably priced.

A must do for lunch. Food is good, regional. Perfect way to feel like you are a part of the busy life of Rome. Probably go back for dinner.

The restaurant is very low key but the food is amazing! When we first arrived in Rome and we were looking for a lunch place and came upon this little gem. We were warmly greeted by the grandma when we walked in. The first thing that got our attention was the antipasti table, full of great looking freshly prepared dishes.,... More

I have been going to this restaurant since 2000, and it is it's simplicity of good service and excellent food that keeps me coming back again and again. My last visit had to be earlier in the evening than I prefer when I travel through Italy. We arrived at 7:00 PM and found a party of four had been seated... More

We visited here during our recent stay. The food was very mediocre, with the exception of the tiramisu which was excellent. The service was atrocious, with the waiter ( the owners son possibly) being particularly rude, removing plates and clearing the table whilst we were still eating, bringing out desert with our main course still on the table. Overall we... More

The prices at this restaurant were low, the food I had tasted good! The service however was awful, there was an old lady walking in and out of the kitchen, helping herself to alsorts! (I assume she's an owner) the male who served us at our table gave the impression he couldn't be bothered with us, the old boy who... More

This is an informal, smaller place where a daily special menu is created daily and on each of our two visits, one thing or the other "ran out." I suggest that you let the helpful, energetic owner help you in ordering your meal.....his suggested lasagna was the best I have ever eaten, and I am a lasagna snob. His limoncello... More

Our first Italian meal (in Italy) aside from pizza. We thought it was great. They have menus in English, were very friendly and helpful. Great wine selection! And the food was terrific! No rush and we had a great time. Table in the center with a fantastic array of desserts! Absolutely recommend.

The owner of the restuarant and is wife run the place along with their son. We ordered artichoke cooked and soaked in olive oil, this was recommended by the owner. Who was abit of a character running around the restaurant taking orders and creating a fun energy. Then we had the calamari and prawns which were great. We lived in... More

I ordered an antipasto of buffalo mozzarella and proscuitto that was delicious. For pasta, I ordered the black pepper and pecorino pasta, which was delicious. I little less pepper would have made it better. Note that when ordering a "glass" of wine, it comes in half liters, so two people can easily split the half later instead of ordering two... More

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
