This restaurant looks basic but the food is the important thing here. Very reasonable prices, food is good and homemade. Portions are more than adequate. Staff very friendly and attentive.

Bruschetta and carbonara were absolutely delicious. House red wine very good. Veal was a bit tough but great flavor. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Server spoke enough English to be helpful. He was adorable. We didn't have dessert because we were too full. Dinner with wine for four (incl. 2 hungry men) was about 75 euros. Close to main train station.... More

Walked in after lunch rush empty tables all over and I am seated by the door in January . Place is very run down but I thought I would give it a try. Ordered pizza and what showed up was a doughy mess. I ate about a quarter of paid my bill and cut my losses. If you want a... More

Semplicity in an austere environment, exactly as the Roman Hostaria should be. Because the focus is on the food, not so much on the environment. Comfortable location (nearby Termini train Station), you can find whatever typical roman food with generous portions. The "primi" are to be preferred to my opinon. Prices are really competitive if you think that you will... More

Do not let the interior prevent you from visiting this place. It's simple, but clean. The food is very good, be ware of large portions. We shared a pasta for starter and thought the the vaiter had misunderstood over order - we thought we had gotten two ordinary portions but the bill showed that we had shared one portion. Very... Great authentic Italian food at a reasonable price. The staff are friendly and welcoming. By far the best food we found in the area. So good after we found it, we didn't go anywhere else.

If you'd like to eat in a good italian restaurant, with good prices, warm staff and typical genuine food, choose this one. Looks like a bit old, but wth! that was the thing! If you're looking for a super-fancy-posh-clean restaurant for snobbish tourists, don't go here, and get along with ordinary food in another restaurant. Ristorante da Dino is made... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
