Whilst touring the castle we stopped in the cafe and had a Cappucino and a very nice slice of their cake, of which there were many to choose from. Service was good, the coffee was excellent, as was the cake. A nice place to take a break. Prices were reasonable for the location.

Good to have a rest part way through this four storey castle. 2.5 Euros for a single espresso was rather expensive, but you're paying for the location and lovely views across the river/city.

All about the views this one. Well worth visiting for an almost 360 of Rome. Truly amazing view you can enjoy at various out door tables. Nice coffee, menu fair range we didn't eat but seemed extensive and popular for snacks, cakes etc.

This is just the job after climbing all those stairs! Really refreshing coffee etc. Make sure you get a menu and sit outside to admire the views. Service is good, if a little slow. But be patient and enjoy the views.

Good place to see the skyline of Rome, and thats it! We also had dinner there and it was standard food, nothing out of the ordinary. However, dining inside a castel is definitely an experience.

At first I didn't recognize the caffe, but then we were there. Actually, it's not cheap, but the pizza was very tasty here, and the sorroundings made it soooooo romantic! *-*

The waiters were very kind and sympathetic, the service was very fast and food was good ( I ordered a pesto lasagna and my girlfriend ordered a ragu lasagna) and the view was breathtaking. I will come back for sure!

Great place when you are in Rome and visiting the Castle Sant' Angelo. Located in the upper part of the magnificent castle, the open-air restaurant has great views over the city with St.Peter's basilica in the distance. Prices are very reasonable for food and drinks.

Great little cafe with beautiful views. Definitely stop by here when you visit the castle. Get one of the white chocolate muffins, ours had pudding or icing or something inside it.

lovely place to stop off for a drink or something to eat. Staff are excellent and attentive. Prices are very reasonable considering its location - and it all comes with a wonderful view.

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighbourhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighbourhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighbourhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
