Don't leave Rome without eating here! Atmosphere is very "family-homey" saturated with everything italian. The service is good, but they are busy, running around and it felt a little rushed. The food is fantastic, but it's the dessert that topped it off! I would recommend reservations, and even at that you'll have a wait....yep it's that good!! Cheers and Enjoy!

We came back after eating here twice last week but despite booking a table in advance the meal was average and the waiters were obviously rushed and rushing to serve us and we felt we had to finish our meal quickly - wouldn't return again

This was the best of the "upmarket" restaurants we ate at during our week stay (i.e. more that a pizzaria). There was a really good choice, including nice fish, and excellent deserts to roud off the meal. Everything we had tasted great and was a whole meal (in other places we though ok, so that's the meat but what about... More

Dinner with friends. Place is nice with many pics of "la dolce vita". We had Abbacchio, cacio e pepe, carciofi alla romana and wine.. Meal was good, very friendly service and price are average.

One of the best restaurants I ate in Rome and in all Italy. Staff nice but little bit anxious trying to be fast... good wine options and tiramisu well done. I totally recomend this restaurant.

There's plenty of place in Monti where I always go but I didn't have time to book any. Being Saturday evening the only choice was to wander around for a table. I ended up in this restaurant which looked like the typical tourist cheap place that I tend to avoid but you see some Italians (not Romans) there too so... More

Our hotel recommended Le Tavernelle for a night when we wanted a casual dinner and a nice plate of pasta. The restaurant fit our needs perfects. Bustling in a friendly, happy way, the restaurant appears to cater to tourists and locals alike. Service is efficient and friendly. While our pasta was good, our appetizer of a dozen oysters was spectacular.... More

We were looking for a small, low key spot for dinner after a long day and we found it. Not a tourist spot, lots of locals inside. They do speak English so don't worry if you haven't mastered your Italian yet. Family run and everything was perfect and delicious. We had prosciutto and melon, soup (for some feeling under the... This restaurant was recommended by our hotel and they said we wouldn't be disappointed, but we were! The menu had things like tripe, marrow bone and various pasta, meat etc but no lasagne, bruschetta or anything else we fancied. We asked if they did pizza and were told "no, this is a restaurant". We were seated next to the toilet... More

Description
It's a historical restaurant near the Colosseum, that offers Roman dishes, meat, fish, no pizza. Air conditioning, free wifi, small pets allowed, disabled inaccessible. Go park the car on the blue parking lots scattered around the area, and have a walk through the evocative streets of the city centre. You can reach us by stepping off the Metro A "Cavour". Characteristic dessert of the place: the Dolcevita, a sort of "panna cotta" without eggs (it was dedicated the the Italian director Fellini, who happened to be allergic to eggs).
