The presentation of the food and the atmosphere was excellent. The food tasted great and the wine by the glass was quite good. I had first a Prosciutto with Mozzarella and as a second I decided to go for the Carbonara, as it was marked to be one of the bests in Italy, I don't know if this is true,... More

The restaurant is situated in the picturesque neighborhood of Trastevere, which is near the Tiber river. It is all white, with black and white portraits of famous Italians, like Sofia Lauren, hanging off the walls, with small pots filled with flowers and soothing music (e.g jazz) playing. All these elements make the space really special and cozy. As far as... More

We choosed this place being im Trastevere and looking for a place to have the dinner. We wanted pizza and pasta and based on the reviews, we went here. We were totally disappointed by the pizza. We love italian pizza and we had pizza in all italian cities (Roma, Milano, Bologna, Firenze, Amalfi Coast, Venice, Dolomiti mountains). But here, we... More

Roman food was traditionally the leftovers that the Pope and Cardinals did not eat. Lots of tough cuts and pasta. However, when done with skill it makes for some very tasty eating. And L'Antico Moro has great skill in the kitchen. We start with fried artichokes that were light and airy and loaded with flavor. We then had a pasta... More

We visited this cute restaurant in Trastevere (one of our favorite neighborhoods) while honeymooning in Rome! It was our absolute favorite meal. The owner came and spoke to us, and I have to say it was the best service we had all trip! We had the house wine which was delicious, and the caprese salad and tuna carpaccio to start.... More

We ate here for lunch. The place was cute and staff very nice, but I found the food to be mediocre at best. It was our last day in Italy after 3 weeks, and after eating wonderful foods in Sicilly and the Puglia areas, we found the food here not up to par. The portions were small and it was... More

Such a delicious meal, the hostess was really lovely and very accommodating to our dietary requirements - gluten free and diary free can be tricky in Rome. The Primitivo wine is also highly recommended. Thanks! Would definitely recommend this authentic restaurant.

My daughter who is in Rome for a semester recommended L'Antico Moro and she could not have been more right! By far this is the best restaurant we have eaten at in Rome. We started with baked eggplant, grilled vegetables, a meat plate, and clams and muscles; absolutely incredible. Claudio recommended amazing wines for us. We ended with the best... More

It's a lovely Italian restaurant that was recommended to us by our guide from Bici Baci bike tours: she was so right. We had the 4 course set menu for ~20 euros. My wife had the fish menu and I had the meat. The pasta course was the best pasta I have had in Italy so far. Elisa the owner... More

Description

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
