We were walking around Trastevere and stumbled upon this trattoria that somehow looked like a tourist trap from outside. Actually, it turned out to be a great and cozy place where locals had gathered for Christmas lunch. Just don't order the set menus that are cheap but don't look appetizing. Go for a la carte items and try out traditional... More

The waitress was yelling at the customers. We were afraid to ask for anything. The food was not bad but certainly not special.

Large table for 8, good food and service all round. We had an enjoyable night and food was pretty good, plenty of it. Price was not cheap but reasonable!!

I also lived 50 meters from this place. Tried it once, food was quite poor. prices were moderate. Crowded and low appeal. Don't waste your time.

Visited on a Friday night and the food was ok. Our large group of 6 tourists was promised the local fish catch for a certain price. When the bill came, 3 plates of local fish were double the price. Didn't want to argue with the wait staff. Was told to watch out for places like this.

We were looking for a place to have an outdoor lunch. ..and we found the perfect.. Try aglio e olio pasta and the seafood pasta. The mixed salad was also tasty and fresh. They have baby chair!!

We stumbled on this restaurant for dinner thinking it must be good as it was quite busy. We were wrong. On arrival the staff tried to up sell everything and claimed items were not on the menu in smaller sizes. They had also run out of items on the menu and substituted ingredients where they should have just taken the... More

My girlfriend and I stumbled across this place. Before going in, we asked a few locals who sang its praises - and we were not disappointed. Fantastic pasta (go for the Ox tail) and fish (worth every penny and fresh). Service is among best you'll have (expect free wine!). Ask for Sorin, a true gent - he'll take great care... More

Wandering around Trastevere, trying to find that little place from our last trip...you know the one on the little square behind the little square...but hunger drove us to sit down and eat. Nothing wrong with this place, but nothing special in terms of offerings, food or service. There are many better restaurants in Trastevere.

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
