The oldest bakery in Rome and the range of pastries are incredible. Great coffee , super pastries and very good service - a little expensive at at 30 euro for 4 coffee and 3 pastries

If you are looking fo a great "croissants" breakfast - come for sure. The service is friendly, they have more types of a coffee, the area is beautiful and the restaurant is including typical italian food shop.

The food is ok (maybe slightly above the average of a standard Italian pizzeria), but it is really too expensive (30 Euros for 2 people for a light lunch!) Arancini and mozzarelle in carrozza were over-priced and the waiters were not well organized and not kind at all.

Delicious Italian pastries. Wonderful choice of fresh food. Served nicely. Prices are not too expensive. A nice place for tea time.

Enjoyed the 20 euros per person drink and buffet. Cocktails well made and generous serving. Service was with a smile and good option for vegetarian diner too. Very carb orientated meal, salad option would've made it perfect. Definitely reccommend!

The first time we went, we bought a birthday cake for my daughters 30th. Had my 4 daughters with me to celebrate. of course while we were there we had to get coffee and taste some treats. Mouth watering and service was great that night. We chose to go back on our last night to have a great experience on... More

There are a few places you go that have a lasting imprint on the memory. Panella around Christmas time is one. Staying but 100 metres away we made this a daily haunt to drink the excellent coffee and watch an array of chic Romans come in to get their Christmas Cakes and Panettones. One afternoon they started making nougat out... More

A fantastic cafe in the centre of Rome. Superb coffee, and pastries that hit the mark. A tad on the pricier side, but welcome to Rome. A tip for young players - get in between 8am-11am for a few extra options (the custard/creme-filled croissants are a treat), and only on offer until 11am.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
