The best choice, excellent cuisine, we just loved it (and also the wine) :) We visited more restaurants during our stay, but this one was the best and that´s why we also returned there - and mainly also because of the staff (Mohamed from Egypt). He was super caring, helpful, created pleasant atmosphere and even knew few words in Czech... More

We arrived in Rome at 9.30pm, was hungry and tired. This was the first place we found on the corner near our hotel. The waiter, a sweet talker to all women.....told us about the tourist menu, a drink, starter, meal and dessert for 14 euros. so, we sat done, the meal was lovely. and when my husband didnt want a... Just finished eating a very delicious vegetarian thin crust pizza! This has got to be one of the best I've ever had! The waiter, from Cairo, was very friendly and sweet! Such great food with great service! I'd like to come back another time and try their pasta dishes! The restaurant itself is like a hole in the wall but... More

Lured in by offer of 10% off bill and free limoncello for our party of 3, we had dinner here tonight. Our meal took forever to prepare and my risotto tasted awful. When I asked what kind of rice they used, the waiter said "yellow".. Yeah right! This is not the place to go. Plus, when the bill arrived there... More

Stayed at Best Western Hotel Canada last week for 7 nights. On our arrival, we were too tired to venture out far so we picked La Tavernetta since they were just a little block away. What a great find! We returned there two more times afterwards. The food was great (had various pastas, risottos, chicken dishes as well as a... More

Sat on side walk, the waiter was offering people walking by a 10% discount, whereas customers already eating did not get the discount. Food was average, nothing special. 6 euros for a glass of house wine.

In July 2015 we dined at this restaurant with a young granddaughter while staying at the adjacent Hotel Canada (reviewed separately). We returned this year with another grandchild (each one gets a trip when he or she turns 12) and found this little joint just as good. The food is very reasonably priced and we have never been disappointed, now... More

Ate here on the two nights we stayed. Pizza one night, pasta the next. Good food, reasonable prices and a friendly welcome and service. Close to our hotel. Just what you need.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
