We came here on the strength of some pretty good reviews but left extremely disappointed. I guess there was nothing actually wrong with the food, it just wasn't very special. For example gnocchi with no sauce to accompany and spaghetti without even being offered grated parmesan cheese to add some flavour, and it all tasted a bit oily. Whilst locals... More

The lady we rented a room from told us about this place, I thought it was extremely over priced and that the food, such as a simple spaghetti with meatballs costed us about € 20. Not worth it and very dedicated that it displayed a trip advisor sticker . Thumbs down.

We followed trip advisor for this one. Welooked for restaurants that were close to where we are staying. This strategy paid off brilliantly. Lampada was a local restaurant run by Italians who know their food. We had gnocchi, minestrone followed by meatballs and desert. it was fantastic.

Front desk staff at Romanico Palace, recommended this restaurant. It was a short walk from the hotel. Our family of 5 enjoyed a great dinner. Very nice staff and good food. Great local place.

Walking in the door and seeing the self-service antipasto bar made us know we were in the right place for an authentic Italian dinner. Even without a reservation we were promptly seated. The freshest bread we have had yet was served and we knew were in for a good meal, My Brother-in-laws gluten and pepper allergies were accomodated easily. The... More

Jeckle and Hyde? Ate here two nights in a row - experience could not have been any different. Near our hotel. First visit welcoming normal service food out of this world. Best meal we had in Rome. I had spaghetti with clams and my mum the gnocchi. Incredible fresh desert too. One of the best Italian meals we've ever had.... More

Unimposing restaurant, recommended by our hotel reception and didn't disappoint. The antipasta was fresh and nicely presented (there is a self-service option which we didn't notice, but would've been a good choice) The pasta was perfectly cooked and sauces homemade and delicious. Complemented by a bottle of regular Chianti for a very reasonable 15€. Didn't make it to the second... More

We stayed at hotel Medici and they recommended this lovely family friendly restaurant. Good value for money and I wanted to try authentic lasagne which I believe they only sell on a Sunday- it was really nice. Tiramisu was also lovely and staff were friendly.

My wife and i visited La lampada on recommendation of our hotel. We visited on three occassions. First two were excellent, third one was really disappointing as they seemed more interested in Italy match which was on a laptop in the entrance porch. This is a family run restaurant frequented by locals. Over the three nights we had variety of... More

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
