Close to the Vatican, this can best be described as an old fashioned restaurant with old fashioned decor and old fashioned service with old fashioned food at an old fashioned price - actually altogether pretty enjoyable on all counts. Tasty Italian food at a reasonably tasty price, considering it is so close to the Vatican.

Visiting rome and staying near the Vatican we wanted somewhere easy to go for our evening meal, especially after all the walking during the day! After eating here the first night we returned each evening as the food was so good and the wine was cheap!! The waiter remembered us and made us feel very welcome. The saltimbocca was perfect,... We arrived at our hotel (Alimandi Vaticano) early evening and needed to eat. A short walk around the corner from the hotel we found this place. We were welcomed in by the staff and with a menu with English translations we soon ordered our food. The meals arrived quickly and were delicious. Treated like a friend of the family so... More

Considering this is so close to the Vatican City and quite touristy, we were very pleasantly surprise by our wonderful lunch. Speaking no Italian we ordered delicious pizzas and fizzy water and it all came to an amazing 20.70euros for us both, including the service charge. The service was swift after we ordered but the pace of the lunch was... More

We stopped in here after a long day in the Vatican. Staff was attentive, food was OK, prices were fair. It was a beautiful night, so the seating on the sidewalk was very pleasant. We enjoyed it, but probably not enough to beat a quick trail to get back there next time.

After the visit of the Vantican Museum, small Trattoria, that restores you to your best shape. A not expensive restaurant with clean toilets and very well done food specially the scampi rissotto. We also tried a magnificient capresse salad and a calzone made with very good and very well care products. Although is a tourist place the service and the... More

We were to this restaurant after visiting Vatican museum. It was a very good choice, once it is really close. They serve a very good pasta, the service was good. Recommend.

We stopped at the restaurant after visiting museum, the restaurant maybe do not look as high end but the food is very good and inexpensive. We were served very quickly brushetta pomodoro and had to wait just 5 minutes for main meal. Overall very positive visit

We were really tired and we ate half asleep, but still it was good! Very thin pizza with excellent sauce! The AC wasn't that good. We should have sit outside

Gruff waiter, no tourists, no menu listings in a dozen languages, no cinghaile because it hadn't cooked for long enough...all music to my ears and food didn't disappoint. We only had pasta dishes (4 of them) but they were all excellent. 15% service charge added automatically lost them a star from me (probably would have given more to be honest... More

Staying in Prati

Neighbourhood Profile
Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the centre, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighbouring Borgo, Prati is a local favourite for its aesthetic organisation and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
