The location might be good, but the food and drinks are overpriced. 20 € for 2 cappuccino and a (bad tasting) homade tiramisu. Never again.

Ok, you pay for the prime location. But the view on piazza del popole at sunset is stunning. We had a large glass of wine served with chips and olives. 7 euros per glass. Worth it.

The food and service were good, considering how insanely busy this place was. We had wine & pizza & pasta (of course) and thoroughly enjoyed people-watching. Thanks to our server Rentao for his hospitality & patience with our attempts at the Italian language!

Just returned back to uk today. Walked past the Canova during the day. Liked the look of the restaurant and the staff where all dressed professionally. Decided to visit there for our last evening before coming home, as a treat. Went last night on the 5th March. Arrived circa 9pm was far busier earlier in the day and early evening.... More

Many thanks to one of the world's greatest waiters Angelo ! Every year we look forward to seeing him. He is cool. It takes a great deal of patience and good character to work here among the unrelenting hordes of tourists. The swordfish was excellent when we were there. Congratulations to the hardworking cooks . Viva Angelo ! Viva Cafe... More

Our apartment was just down the street from this Piazza and we were lucky to find it. We were in the same location in 2015 and missed this gem. We had breakfast at Canova one morning and it was a perfect location to sit outside and enjoy the scenery. We also went back for lunch. Food was very good and... More

After a long day of walking , Canova was a good place to have a light supper. Food was ok. The wait staff were willing to share the wifi password for the restaurant. Wine list was reasonably priced. Food was ok - catering to tourists, but good place to relax and soak in the heat of the "torch heaters".

Great situation on a lovely piazza, but you'll pay for it both in terms of cost and poor service (another "no tip" which is not us). Toilets could do with a good clean too. Don't bother...

Looks like the perfect tourist trap - but actually perfomed really well! Almost only cafe/restaurant at Piazza del Popolo with afternoon sun and the tables fills up fast outside. We had an house salad (Canova) and a vegetable pizza. Both were amazing. Did not really expect that from this kind of place that benefits so much from the location. Next... More
