Excellent value for money, good pasta. Simply good describes our experience. We recommend for a Sunday lunch.

My travel companion insisted to buy us lunch in this little restaurant. Unfortunately it was too cold and windy to sit outside. The inside is cosy, lots of tables, little space to move around. We both had a pasta dish which was lovely and half a liter of red wine, some water of course and a coffee. I don't know... More

Went for dinner after this place was recommended in a guide book for cheap eats. Definitely good value for money (bread, two dishes, dessert and water for 13 euro as a set menu) but the food was average. The carbonara had hunks of bacon and quite salty, and the lamb was very crispy and just ok. The atmosphere was great-... More

On our last night in Rome we wanted to go to a restaurant that the locals frequent. It is an extremely busy restaurant and it is a little tight seating wise. We ordered meals from the 3 course set menu. The food was very tasty but the portions were a little on the small side. For a starter I had... More

We were here a couple of days ago , from the outside it looks like a nice place but unfortunately the food socks. We were there with 7 people and we had the set menu but we all choose different dishes , but nobody liked the food , so that says enough.

A suprisingly poor cuisine. In a fairly warm atmosphere the main courses are practically uneatable while the pasta dish is a disgrace, given that you are in an Italian restaurant. I should not have tried the dessert when it came looking watery and melted; definitely the worst panacotta and tiramisu I have ever tasted! Unfortunately, my disappointment could not be... More

We were enticed in by the very reasonably priced set menu (€13 for three courses and a drink). Unsurprisingly the portions were relatively small but we were reasonably full by the end. The service was generally good although it took a while for them to take our order and bring the drinks. The young staff (seemed to be in training)... More

Just plain and simply awful food, the meals looked and tasted as if they were three days old and ready made . The wine they offered as part of the menu was bitter and we could hardly manage to finish one glass. The tables are squized next to each other and you feel like sardines in a box. The staff,... We were recommended to come to the Trastevere area by the hotel receptionist , there are plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby, away from the real tourist madness of central Rome This place looked OK, with traditionally dressed waiters , looked like musketeers! We were there in January so chose to go indoors - big mistake. We were seated at... More

This place is not, strictly speaking, an osteria and it’s definitely not antique, but it is a decent place to get a big and reasonably priced meal. It is a slightly touristy place is an increasingly touristy area, but still much more value for money than in the centre. Plus the food is good. We’ve been here a number of... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
