It seemed popular and busy but was really quite disappointing. Pasta was plain enough and compared to some Other meals we had on our holiday. I'd recommend avoid.

Our hotel ( San Remo ) is a stone’s throw from this lovely little restaurant which seems in a very peaceful location given it’s proximity to Termini. It has a number of outside tables one of which we occupied. The menu is quite extensive with most pasta dishes on the a la carte being in the €8 – €12 bracket... More

This was the first place we ate at when arriving in Rome. We stumbled upon it while looking for a different restaurant. So we had zero expectations. Our waiter was very friendly although we had to wait a very long time before getting our bill. I had the traditional calzone and it was good. Im not a foodie so I... More

Staff appeared to speak no English and when we walked in, a guy was wandering round on his mobile and just waved us to a table. Once the food arrived it was delicious. However when we asked for the bill, the waiter just said '€50' and we had no way to check if this was right due to them 'not... More

We enjoyed a pleasant meal here, however we had a problem when we came to pay the cash only bill of 50.5 euros. We paid 60 euros and were offered a limoncello from our bald male waiter. We expected to see some change but had to ask for it. When it did reluctantly arrive as 2, 5 euro notes we... More

Situated just around the corner from hotel Universo (not far from stazione Termini) we found this unassuming little restaurant. There is lots on the menu to choose from and the quality of food and the warm welcome you are given by the waitress (Chiara) and waiter (.?) was fabulous. We went back about 4 times in all because of the... More

While in Rome for four days in March, we discovered this little restaurant completely by accident. The place next door had been recommended to us but we arrived too early for the dinner service. Since we had been around the city all day doing "touristy" things, we just needed some dinner. We saw this place next door that was open... More

We shared the penne arribiatta and grilled veg- a little too al dente for me but very flavourful, veggies were good but nothing special. Server was very very friendly, and spoke some English. Would recommend to others.

Were recommended to try this out by a fellow traveller at our hotel. Not disappointed, had the fixed price menu which was good value and the meal was filling and tasty. Friendly staff. Would give it a visit if you are staying nearby.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
