This place is a place out of the radar of tourists, but definitely one of the best if you want to experience true roman food. The staff will welcome you with a small dish of pasta e fagioli, and then will walk you through the daily menu: no paper. Try the pasta: carbonara, amatriciana, carbonara or gricia. Then keep a... We went there twice on our 4 day holiday in Rome. Close to Hotel Tiberio. Make a booking the day before. Many locals eat here. Valentino is a friendly, welcoming host. He gave us a table the first night with no booking. He makes the restaurant experience. The Involtini (meat rolls), were excellent as was oxtail stew. Second night we... More

La Sagra Del Vino is by far one of my favorite restaurants in the world. The food just has the quintessential essence of home-made/Nonna's cooking with fresh local ingredients. I have been talking about La Sagra Del Vino to my wife (who is a picky eater) for a long time and we finally went there together. I was afraid that... More

This restaurant exceeded all expectations! It is a little family run place that has been cooking for over 60 years. The staff is all welcoming and funny, and the food is unbelievable. I visited many top-ranked restaurants in Rome during my vacation, but this topped them all.

It's the third time I go there. Always excellent. I don't want to write the typical comment, such as "carbonara is delicious" or "trippa is very tasty" or "the staff is polite" and bla bla bla. It's the simplicity of the meals that makes this restaurant very good. It's like when I ate in my grandma's country house...

Great restaurant Limited menu, there were 4 of us for dinner and everyone loved it. We had pasta and a main course. Their meatloaf is unbelievable. Rolled meat and pasta with oxtail sauce and pasta with artichokes were superb. We did not have desert. Prices are very reasonable, about a 15 minute walk from Vatican Museum.

Though it has not been an outstanding Roman experience, I can say nothing bad about this cozy family business. We had the home wine, which was really good. Pasta was nothing out of the ordinara, see med just like the one we cook at home, very quickly. The place looks very relaxed, service was good, nice people, overall a very... More

This restaurant offers very good food, honest prices and a fun atmosphere. To taste traditional roman food and feel at home this is an ideal venue. We ate pasta carbonara, liver, lamb, broccoli, artichokes, with biscuits and sweet wine (as much as you like) for dessert. I have a lot of experience with eating out in Rome and La Sagra... More

Sadly we are simple English folks who know nothing of the complexities of Italian food etiquette. Perhaps we should have read this article before we went http://taste-of-italy.blogspot.co.uk/2014/12/antipasto-primo-secondo-how-to-order.html (worth reading)but then again I don’t think the staff had either. If the thought of putting a spoonful of chicory on the side of your carbonara fills you with horror you’ll love this... More
