I had the lentil soup, the pasta special with crunchy bacon and the beef cheeks. The soup was like a mash of vegetables, but was lite and it went down well, i didn't dislike it, i was pleasantly surprised by it. The pasta was great, i liked it the most, it only took 2 minutes for me to eat it... More

A local friend discovered this restaurant only last week, despite the fact that is has been opened for more than 8 years! If you are lucky to get a table (they are only open for dinner) and find the restaurant you are in for a great culinary experience. The menu is limited to a few dishes but they are all... More

The best pasta I had in quite some time! The restaurant is rather small and not easy too find. Dishes with no more than 3 fresh ingredients but deliciously prepared.

The food was excellent and the staff were very warm and inviting. The restaurant was very quiet with jazz playing in the background.

Don't let the neighborhood scare you off, this one is a hidden gem that's definitely worth looking for! We walked in on a Sunday night at around 7:30pm and we were the last one lucky enough to get a table without a reservation. The place is in a back alley and is quite small (11 tables) so you might wanna... More

We share a bottle of wine which was a reasonable price of 17 euros followed by desert of a cheese cake and my husband had an ice cream... More

We were staying nearby and had this place down on our list of places to eat, going on our last night in Rome. We thought it was worth the visit. Tucked away in a tiny alleyway you could miss it, but find it please as you could be pleasantly surprised. A small family run place being quite cosy and private,... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
