Food is superb. Place is small so reservations are necessary. Couple of blocks from Pantheon. Best steak and Tiramisu I have ever had. House red wine is great.

We have not done as well in general in Rome as in Florence. Osteria del Sostegno is the exception. Everything was excellent. We ordered a modestly priced Montepulciano Marina Cvetic 2013 which was terrific. Their house wine is also a Montepulciano which is probably good as well. Our meals were wonderful. Maria had Bruscetta with Olive tapenade that was wonderful.... More

In an alleyway to a backstreet around a bend from the pantheon, that's where the romans eat these days. And it's pretty good! Not cheap ... but good!

The food was excellent, very close to the main street of via del Corso. We had a great dinner, the steak was excellent and so is the service. We didn't like the desert we ordered so we were given the opportunity to order another one.

Highly recommended to us who are familiar with Rome but never ate there. What a surprise! Very small and hard to find and to get a table but it is worth trying. Fantastic host and good staff.

My wife and I enjoyed a great meal here. My favourite part was there was no one out front beckoning you in (because this is not necessary). Excellent food and service. I had the steak, my wife the truffle pasta.

More

Always full by local citizens. Reservation is obligatory or try come at 7:30pm. The best Carbonara I tryed in Rome. Beef Fillet - the best i ever tryed (but you'll get much more rare you asked for)!! Vealchop was perfect too so as everything we ordered. We returned every evening and sometimes for lunch and were not dissapointed. I was... More

A hotel staff member recommended we go to this restaurant and skip the one next door to the hotel. The Osteria del Sostegno is tucked away off a little street so that you will never chance upon it unless you had specific directions. We liked it so much that we ate dinner there twice and had lunch there once. The... More

Staying in Colonna

Neighbourhood Profile
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very centre of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping centre, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
