Please don't go here if you want a nice meal. Worst prawns I've ever had, only got two in my pasta and no meat come off them.

Upon walking in & seeing bottles of wine on tables ~ should have gone with instinct & left. Our bottle of Frascati was warm ~ had to ask for an ice bucket. My meal of Mozzarella & meats was awful ~ cheese was dry & not much of it. The meat was sparse & the ham was that thin almost... More

The staff were all very friendly and the gnocchi ragu that I ordered was nice. The only let down was that the coke was flat.

We stayed near the Vatican so we chose this place for dinner. Service was good, food was ok / average (pasta and pizza), and prices are fair. However the white wine that I had tasted like water / diluted. It was very bad for €5 per 0.5L. Overall I believe there are better restaurants around the area.

We were approached by Luigi after returning from the Vatican. For me and my friends the pasta, lasagna and desert was something that we can cook better at home. If you are very hungry and looking for something average and cheep to eat this ok, but if you want a good experience when it comes to food, don't try this... More

Pizza is an insult for the dish. Pasta is nothing special. The waiters were polite and nice. The house wine was ok.

Visited on a whim but was not impressed. There was only one server working so it took a while to place our order. I ordered fettuccine alfredo....not worth it. My boyfriend ordered a pizza that for some reason took 45 to come out (not special order - straight off the menu). He ended up not even eating it saying it... More

Had a delightful evening meal with family at Ciao. Luigi was terrific as was the food. Can strongly recommend the lasagne. Very nice.

We were starving after the Vatican tours and picked this just because we didn't want to walk anymore! My gnocchi was lovely, the wife's prawns were hit and miss, the boy's spaghetti bolognese was ok. House red wine was distinctly average. That said, it was very reasonably priced for the area.

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighbourhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighbourhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighbourhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
