This small restaurant is out of the tourist"s paths. It is near to Piazza de la Reppublica.Take the bus 492 from downtown. We came because it was a suggestion of our Italian friends. The server name Nello will explain about the menu.Take his opinion. We ordered the homemade excellent ravioli stuffed with ricotta cheese, basilic and butter. Then choose the ossobuko veal.It was so... More

A great quirky restaurant opposite the Horti. They serve only fish on a Thursday Friday and Saturday. The fried fish was simple but excellent. The homemade blackberry tart was lovely. The menu is seasonal.

This little place is off the beaten track and well worth the couple turns it takes to get there. Small place - we arrived without reservations with a larger group. Luckily we were early. They twisted some tables around to make seating for us. With our group we had the Pasta Carbonara (voted the best in Rome by our group),... More

We visited here on our first night in Rome and again on our 4th night. The four of us had a great laugh both evenings and the food, service and ambience were great. Definitely worth a visit.

Small local trattoria not far from the Borghese Gardens, serving what Rome does best - unpretentious honest food, excellently prepared. We had a warm welcome from Il Padrone, who took us to choose our food, showing us the appetising selection of freshly-caught fish and proudly recommending an excellent Verdicchio from near his native village to accompany it. The restaurant's not... More

We had risotto with shrimps, calamari and tomato. I was not able to find a single shrimp or calamari on the plate. Same for the other plate that was with spaghetti. We spent 23€ for the two dishes and a 1 liter bottle of water. Also, they sat us on a table with another couple while half of the restaurant... More

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
