Excellent pizza and pasta. Service was exemplary and very warm. Great atmosphere for families, and groups old and young. Highly recommend

We were staying in a B&B around the corner and grabbed takeaway pizza twice as we jumped off the 8 tram on our way home. Best pizza in Monteverde.

we arrived the restaurant on our first night, with our 10 years boy, the food and the service was excellent! We did not know what to choose, and started to ask for almost every dish on the other tables, each was better from the our. Better to skip the spinach dish, but this is the only (that we tried). Surely... More

Very helpful stuff, nice menu, warm atmosphere. We visited 4 times and we were satisfied. There are only 2 or 3 like these in the area.

Went here for dinner last night and had a lovely meal and bottle of wine. Our waitress spoke excellent English and translated the menu for us. She advised us that the main meal would be enough for the two of us .... She wasn't wrong. It was a huge serving. As we were leaving the owner gave us a shot... More

we were delighted to eat here (several times) again after two years, & find it as good as ever. The pizzas in particular, are as good as you'll find anywhere, the steaks are great, the starters are huge ( beware!) I was surprised to see criticism of the wine list in another post, the wine list is very good. The... More

We had a two week stay around the corner from La Gianicolense and found it to be an excellent restaurant to visit when we were not going into Rome itself, the main thing we ( myself, my wife and daughter ) enjoyed about it was that not only could you get a lovely meal at reasonable prices ( for Rome... I've eaten here several times (both this year and two years ago) and each time had a good dinner. I've eaten pasta, secondi, and pizza. It's good; the service is fine (although we went there a couple of weeks ago and the place was EMPTY except for one other table--we were asked if we had a reservation--we did not--and we... More

First class friendly service, no matter how busy. We were lucky enough to have a flat2 minutes walk away, so ate there several times. Fabulous steaks, wonderful pizzas. Yum.... wish I was there....

Staying in Monteverde

Neighbourhood Profile
Above the city on the Janiculum hill, Monteverde is Rome’s popular "getaway" neighbourhood, coveted for its greenery. Rome's largest urban park, Villa Pamphili, is the area's centrepiece with affordable prices and peace and quiet. Monteverde is just far enough away from the centre to feel like you’re on a Roman holiday and close enough to feel the lure of Rome's chaos. Though its downside is the lack of scheduled public transport, this family-oriented area is literally a well-deserved walk in the park.
