I have been to this restaurant, and have always had an outstanding meal. Welcomed by Claudio, the restaurant's owner, the atmosphere is carefully designed to be relaxed, warm; a perfect backdrop for a great meal. The food riffs off old Roman recipes, but with exciting little twists and turns. The pici alla gricia e carciofi is a perfect example. Even... More

My boyfriend and I came around 8:15, there were a few other tables seated at that point. The atmosphere was clean and cozy but not too crowded or loud. Service was good. Food was fresh and tasty. Would definitely come again!

I was invited by friends to this restaurant whose existence I did not know. It was a pleasant surprise in terms of the menu and selection of dishes: all belonging to the traditional Roman cuisine. The appetisers were not very creative or unique in nature (the usual mozzarella and Parma ham along with meatballs and an interesting eggplant roll) but... More

A great feel to the restaurant, it has a hip vibe with amazing food. A very upbeat feel and was very busy. Lively - great people watching.

Went here for dinner, and the food was amazing. Had ravioli, and it was so good I could have eaten another serving (they also serve ice with beverages for us Americans who can't seem to live without it!). Good service, friendly people and reasonably priced. We arrived around 20:00, and three tables were occupied. Left at 21:30, and the restaurant... More

Classy, friendly restraurant offering varied menu with interesting, creative options alongside Roman classics - fish as well as meat - through all courses. Reasonably priced wine list too. I enjoyed the buratta with gazpacho, potato crusted turbot and liquorice gelato. The honey and mustard veal and tuna with three types of balsamic vinegar were also praised by my dining companions.

Fantastic dishes, served with great fair at Testaccio...one of best places to try 'a taste of Rome'.....Trippa alla romana, Coda alla vaccinara, Carciofi alla romana....and a Red Wine quartino....nothing more satisfying than that! I will be back very soon!

Was taken on the recommendation of our taxi driver. Naturally was a little sceptical as it was a bit out of the way but it was completely worth the travel. The anti-pasti was fantastic, particularly the Parma ham which was melt in the mouth. Star of the show for us however was the pastas. The manager Claudio was very warm... More

Staying in Testaccio

Neighbourhood Profile
Put the house music on replay and you have Testaccio, an ancient Roman port and former working class neighbourhood where the bass is set to high almost every night of the week. Its collection of discoteche (nightclubs), street parties, and crowded restaurants give it its well-deserved party reputation. During the daytime, Testaccio is more easy listening than club hit, the area is full of locally owned small businesses and has one of the city's larger produce markets.
