Wherever you are staying in Rome and which ever beautiful sites you want to visit: add this one to your list! It is by far the best gelato ever!! We had the Amareno, Double Chocolate and Pistachio (3,50€ for 3 generous scoops, great value) and all of them were divine! Close to Metro station S. Giovanni (a beautiful site, so... More

Rome is full of gelaterias, so it's hard to see which ones are legit and which ones are not. Thankfully, I did my research and decided to try this place near my accommodation. I wasn't disappointed. A lot of locals get their gelato from here so you can tell it's good. I successfully ordered my gelato - extra dark chocolate,... More

Forget about the gelato shops around the tourist area! Come to this Rivareno Gelato, where it is located just steps away from San Giovanni station. The pricing is just half of what you get at Trevi Fountain, but tasted 5x better!!! Love it and almost got myself a 2nd cone right after I finished the 1st. Truly the best Gelato... More

During my week here, I went back pretty much every day. Loved every flavour I tried, but the best for me was the nutty chocolatey Rivareno - heaven in a cone! Two months on and I'm still struggling to forget it.

Although quite strategically located near San Giovanni in Laterano (but just outside the city walls and on a busy street) it is ignored by most tourists. A pity because it's serving probably the best ice cream in the while Roman area. Incredibly smooth creaminess of its milk based ice creams, and real fruit instead of flavour for the other types.... Best ice creams we've had in Rome - tasty and creamy! Generous portions. €3 for a medium two scoop cone. I wish I had as good a gelataria at home...

This place was opposite our apartment and we visited 3 times over the long weekend. Cheaper than places in town. The sorbet was especially good, I loved the banana one and the kids really enjoyed the crepes. Ask for an English menu, they have one under the counter.

The gelato here was fantastic, I stayed in Rome for 4 days and visited this place 3 times! Each time I got the fantastic 'cremino Rivareno' flavour but also tried a cherry, a nocciala and a dark chocolate and grand marnier. All off them were very very tasty. This place is a little out of the way for most tourists,... More
