This is a small unassuming restaurant on the pedestrian walkway between Hadrian's Temple and the Trevi Fountain. We ate here three time on a visit to Rome in May of 2017, Although the restuarant's name is Habana (Havana) it is traditional Italian Mediterranean food that is served here. There are a handful of tables outside and more inside, however its... More

At first glance it doesn't seem like much. Mauro the Host/Salesman said to us if we didn't like our meal we didn't have to pay for it as we were walking by. I thought, this guy is crazy. So we decided to give it a try the next day. So glad we did. The pasta is fresh, the food amazing... More

I had the good fortune of having dinner at this lovely restaurant twice in the past days. The food was well prepared and service was very very fast. The waiting staff are all gifted linguist in many languages. You may pick up a lesson in languages by eating here in this lovely cafe!

Mauro was fantastic. Really enjoyed the food and setting. Bottle of wine and 2 meals for less than 40 euros 1/2 block from the Pantheon. Would definitely go again and probably will since we are staying right next door and here for 4 more days.

I had a lunchtime meal here and sat indoors. Meal was ok, city centre prices and average quality but I wouldn't hurry back. Staff were good.

Like many restaurants near the Pantheon, Habana Café has a person outside talking to tourists and looking to get them to eat at their place. The difference here is that Mauro brings a positive energy and sincere appreciation for the people he invites to eat at his restaurant. Despite being very busy, they made room outside for us to sit... More

Mauro got our attention with the cheap menu (you can pick the $10, $12 or $15 all inclusive menu). We chose the $12 and it was fulfilling. The best spaghettis a la carbonara I've ever had. We loved it so much we came back the next day even when the restaurant was a few miles from our place. Amazing!

Mauro (the matrade) enticed me in with a two course lunch for 12 Euro. Wow what a good meal. I had pennette el carbonara (they changed the pasta because I love pennette pasta) as the first course. Then for the second course was veal with roasted potatoes. The drink was included plus they also provide a small glass of champagne.... More

Staying in Colonna

Neighbourhood Profile
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very centre of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping centre, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
