In testaccio market in Rome, excellent place to have a sandwich with typical roman food. I had vitello à la carbonara and it was excellent. Fair price, fresh, good taste. Will definitely come back.

We got the roast beef, the meat ball sandwich and the sausage and it was all delicious. The food is inexpensive but tasty and quick! Sergio is so friendly and personable! It was a great choice for a speedy, authentic lunch!

After the reviews we went to Mordi e Vai at the Testaccio Market. We had the allesso di scottona sandwich. It was the most delicious sandwich ever! You see the love of the people in the stand for the food they sell. They prepare everything...More

The market is well worth a visit with lots of little food outlets. This is the gem of them all. Beef panini was delicious and fairly priced.

Sergio served the best tasting slow cooked beef brisket sandwich ever. The beef was very juicy, soft and tender. The fresh ciabatta bread dipped slightly in that tasty goodness (the gravy the beef was simmered in) made the sandwich even more delectable. Coming from an...More

Not a must-visit for sure, the sandwich was quite normal (it wasn't bad, just not as amazing as it is made out in reviews etc), and the wine was rather sub-par (that said, probably nobody recommends getting wine from here). It is reasonably priced though...More

While visiting the Testaccio market I've seen lots of locals eating sandwiches. Following the flow, I discovered this food heaven at box no 15. After a 10 minutes queue my turn came and with the help of the owner who speaks little english I chose...More

Put the house music on replay and you have Testaccio,
an ancient Roman port and former working class

every night of the week. Its collection of discoteche
(nightclubs), street parties, and crowded restaurants
give it its well-deserved party reputation. During the
daytime, Testaccio is more easy listening than club
hit, the area is full of locally owned small

Mordi e Vai by Sergio Esposito, Roman cuisine, regional champion in 2013 in the category of street food (premium received by the "Gambero Rosso"). Stuffing sandwiches, mostly with simple dishes of Roman tradition and not only ... The tripe with tomato sauce and bacon, the Scottona allesso (house specialty), the picchiapo, the sausages (Cecchini), and then boiled dumplings ... one leads to another. Flavors, simple and raw materials of excellence! The meat, strictly "Scottona", the bread, baked fresh every morning from the ancient oven "Passi" in Testaccio, are some of the elements in a short time have consecrated "Mordi & Vai" as a must see for roman lovers of street food.
